Shiffrin Extends Contract With With Atomic, Will Have New Service Team
The successful partnership between Mikaela Shiffrin and Atomic continues: The American ski-racer signed a contract with the Austrian ski manufacturer until 2024 and will continue to compete using skis, boots, bindings, and helmets from Altenmarkt for the next two seasons. Her service team will be extended in terms of its staff to specialize in technical and speed categories.
At the beginning of May, the 4-time overall World Cup winner signed a contract to continue her relatioship with Atomic. Along with it there will be a considerable change in the service team around Shiffrin: After four successful years, Johann Strobl, is retiring from the Tour and will transition to the Atomic Pro Center to help strengthen the in-house racing service-team in Altenmarkt. The new service men alongside the 27-year-old racer are Robert Bürgler and Lukas Rottinger, with the latter handling Shiffrin's speed ski setup.

She said "From my first World Cup in Špindleruv Mlyn to my first podium in Lienz, and first win in Åre, @atomicski has been with me through it all…and that says a lot. They are more than my equipment supplier or sponsor—they are like family, and I’m really excited to continue working with the crew, and add two new faces to my team. Welcome, Robbi and Lukas…can’t wait to see what the future holds"
Mikaela, and of course, the Atomic family are more than thankful for Johann Strobl’s extraordinary commitment, which represented a major part to the joint success of the athlete and the equipment supplier. In the new configuration, Shiffrin will continue to receive equipment support in both the technical and speed disciplines.
Last season's overall World Cup winner has relied on equipment from Team Redster her entire professional career, winning 74 World Cup races to date and finishing on the podium 120 times. Atomic is proud to continue this successful path together for another two years.
