Serfaus: The New Komperdellbahn Is Almost Finished
The new Komperdellbahn is almost finished, and nothing should stand in the way of a punctual start on December 8th. The weather gods have also been very busy in the last few days. There is more than a meter of fresh snow in the ski area!
FINAL WORK IN FULL PROGRESS
It's currently hectic in the mountain and valley stations - all work is being completed. The tilers carry out the final work, carpets are laid, glass panes and sliding doors are provided with the necessary tarnish protection, installers carry out the final completion work. Only through the good cooperation of all companies can the largest project in the history of Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH be completed on time.
THE TRAIN IS WAITING FOR ACCEPTANCE
All work on the Komperdellbahn itself has been completed. The final necessary adjustment work has been carried out so that nothing stands in the way of problem-free operation. The railway is already making its rounds and is just waiting for the final acceptance by the authorities next week. Only individual labeling or signage work needs to be carried out at the stations. Preliminary technical surveys are currently underway by the Federal Ministry in Vienna - the entire cable car technology and electrical engineering are being checked.
December 6th is supposed to be a really big day for Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH. The final hearing takes place on this day. All experts will present their inspection reports (employee protection, TÜV, escalators, elevators, sound measurements,...) so that hopefully at the end of the day an official “GO” will be given to Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH! Subject to approval, the first guests will take the new cable car up to Komperdell on December 8, 2023!
AURO SYSTEM ON THE TRAIN
The new railway is equipped with a so-called AURO system. This means that operations could theoretically be carried out without station staff. Equipped with the latest technology, guests are transported safely to their destination. Cameras and sensors ensure everything runs smoothly and monitor the system - especially when entering and exiting. Only one employee would have to sit in the so-called control center (this is housed in the intermediate station) to monitor the entire system. This system was developed by the Doppelmayr company and is already in use in Zermatt and Montafon.
BERGEN MUST BE PRACTICED
In order to be prepared for an emergency, a rescue exercise has already been carried out on the new railway. Numerous rescue teams were deployed to safely rescue the 70 passengers from the cabins. The weather couldn't have been “better” - blowing snow and icy temperatures posed an enormous challenge for the rescue workers! In the end, all extras were successfully rescued - it was a special experience for both the rescuers and the passengers!
COMPLETION OF ADDITIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Work is also in its grand finale in the other facilities located in the valley and mountain stations. In the new Check IN rooms, shelves are already being assembled, skis and ski boots are being sorted and all digital displays are being programmed. The final stop of our summer and winter attraction Serfauser Sauser has already found its place on the roof of the new Check IN. The equipment in the new ski school office in the mountain station has also been installed, and the large ski school logo has been placed on the outside facade. Final work in the new premises is currently being carried out.
