Seilbahnen Schweiz Wins German Event Industry "Oscar"

The German event planning portal Fiylo has honoured Seilbahnen Schweiz (SBS) with a special prixe. The association is recognized for its achievements during the pandemic.

Fiylo Deutschland GmbH, an online portal for special event spaces and event planning throughout Europe, has been presenting the Location Award for eleven years. As part of the award ceremony on July 8, 2021, the Swiss Cable Car Association (SBS) received a special award. This recognized the extraordinary achievements of the industry association during the pandemic. The Swiss ski areas and cable cars remained open in the past winter season. With a comprehensive hygiene and protection concept as well as immense additional personnel expenditure, the mountain railway companies contributed to the fact that the ski season could take place in Switzerland. This work received a lot of political and tourist attention, especially in Germany. Above all, the political skill The award winners were impressed by the constant persuasion and the assertiveness of the association. Ultimately, around CHF 9 billion in direct added value was generated during the 2020/2021 winter season. 

Berno Stoffel, Director of Seilbahnen Schweiz, was very honored by this "Oscar" and appreciated the cooperation with politicians and mountain railway companies. With the success of last winter, a basis was created for the safe operation of the mountain railways in summer and also in the coming winter.

The award was presented in the “So Schweiz” pop-up House of Switzerland in Stuttgart.
