Schladming: Official Approval Granted For Reconstruction Of Planai West Valley Station

In the presence of around 20 authority representatives, experts and residents, the official building permit for the conversion and renovation of the Planai West valley station was issued under the direction of the highest cable car authority of the Federal Ministry. The renovation work will begin in the coming days and completion is scheduled for December 2024.

“The redesign of the Planai West valley station aims to create another high-quality center for winter sports enthusiasts alongside Planet Planai. A big thank you goes to the residents, as well as to the authorities and community representatives, experts and everyone who was involved in the planning,” said Dir. Georg Bliem, Managing Director of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH.

In combination with the 10-person “Rohrmoos I” gondola lift, which is already under construction, the new Planai West valley station will create an attractive access option to the Planai/Hochwurzen ski area. With a new lounge/bar, a large sports shop, improved access and exit options with escalators and elevator, state-of-the-art ski depots and new checkout areas, the converted valley station offers optimal infrastructure for winter sports enthusiasts. Particular attention is paid to contemporary architecture.

Thanks to its convenient location within walking distance of Schladming train station, the valley station is particularly easy to reach for day guests arriving by train. In addition, the situation in the forecourt of the Planai West building will be significantly improved, particularly with regard to the ski bus service.
