Schladming-Dachstein Presents Projects For Coming Years

The additional funds strengthen the third largest association in Austria and are a strong sign of positive tourism development in the years to come. "With additional budget funds, we want to set sustainable accents, especially in product development in the areas of hiking, mountain biking, via ferrata and family offers, as well as implement important projects to combat the labor shortage, expand regionality and sustainability initiatives and improve quality in the event and event area." explain Chairman Andreas Keinprecht and Managing Director Mathias Schattleitner.

  • Those responsible for tourism in the Schladming-Dachstein region invited to the general assembly in the congress Schladming
  • Increase in the contribution from interested parties: Additional funds for important tourism infrastructure projects and living space initiatives
  • The Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Association invited to a general assembly yesterday (6 June) in the Schladming congress. The focus was on the presentation of future projects and the associated increase in contributions from interested parties.

“Tourism is the lifeline of our region. A good, solid budget for our tourism association is necessary in order to be one of the best regions in Austria in the future and to act as a model association in our areas", says TVB chairman Keinprecht. Schattleitner also emphasizes: "We are very proud of our strong Team with whom we have already achieved a lot. We want to continue to implement many important projects in the coming years and be prepared for new challenges in destination and habitat management."

Concrete measures are already being planned, such as the revival of the sulfur spring in the Wörschach Gorge, the health tourism project in the small region of Irdning-Enns-Grimmingland, the motor skills park in Gröbming, mountain bike trails in the region and the reintroduction of major events such as the ski opening or larger ones and cross-regional cultural events.
Quality tourism as the ultimate goal

In their presentations, Keinprecht and Schattleitner can look back on a successful year: "Tourism is an important source of impetus for the quality of life of people in the region. Not only our guests but also the local population should benefit from the expansion of the tourist infrastructure and leisure activities. Both emphasize that the tourism association is not striving for new overnight stay records, but rather that they want to promote quality tourism with the aim of promoting products and services that increase added value for the entire region in the long term.

Team leaders delivered impressive activity reports

The actual main actors of the evening were again the team leaders of the Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Board, who are in charge of the five areas and fields of action. They gave those interested in tourism and guests of honor interesting insights into their areas and essential projects in the coming months and years. Marketing manager Andrea Egger, for example, underlined the importance of the chosen path of continuing to strengthen the off-seasons with intelligent marketing and a good budget and asserting oneself in the face of strong competition in the entire Alpine region. Carolin Lang (Digital Services) emphasized how much potential there is in the area of new trends in digitization and at the same time in customer loyalty.

Investments in via ferratas, bike trails, hiking trails and visitor management

In the area of habitat and product development, the general renovation of the Ramsau via ferrata will be tackled together with the municipality of Ramsau this summer. In close coordination with the landowners, they also want to invest one million euros in bike trails over the next three years, explains team leader Georg Knaus. The new singletrack Haus-Aich is already being implemented. Since visitor guidance in the area of cycling can only succeed through a very attractive offer, it is also necessary to improve the Enns cycle path and to build safe cycle paths between the town centers. In the next three years there are also plans to renew numerous hiking starting points, to upgrade the Wörschachklamm gorge with a sulfur spring and to launch quality campaigns in the area of winter hiking,

Michael Schütz (landlord and guest service) explained that the personal care of guests and landlords is still of great importance. Especially in the area of landlord coaching - training and support for tourism companies by the Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Board - there is still potential to be able to advise companies in today's fast-paced world and with all challenges. In the Events and Incoming area, Thomas Steiner explained important objectives, for example quality assurance and the increase in existing events, the expansion of cultural events and a focus on lighthouse projects and events in all 13 communities. Furthermore, ski openings and summer start concerts are to take place again.
