Savoie Mont Blanc says “try an olympic winter sport”
Bobsleigh in La Plagne
Race down the 19 bends of La Plagne’s bobsleigh track, the only track in France, built for the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville. There are four different types of bobsleighs:
The bob raft, which is self-driving and reaches speeds of up to 80km/h
The speed luge, a solo descent in a specially designed luge that reaches speed of up to 90km/hr
The Bob Racing, where three people are driven by a professional pilot at 120km/h
Olympic experience: dressed in professional overalls, you will race down the 19 bends of La Plagne’s bobsleigh track with Olympic Medallist and World Champion Bruno Mingeon as your driver. Speeds of up to 130km/hr.
It costs €45 for an introduction in a bob raft and €125 for the Bob Racing
Slalom in Le Grand Bornand
With Alpina Watches ESF Experience, Le Grand Bornand opens its slalom stadium to the public. Skiers can time themselves and compared their times to champions such as Tessa Worley and Steve Missillier. Their run is shown on a giant screen and can be shared on social media via a dedicated app.

Curling in Pralognan
Pralognan has one of the few French curling rink, specially designed for this sport. The resort
hosted the Curling during the 1992 Winter Olympic Games.
It cost €70 per hour, equipment included.
Ski Cross in Val Thorens
Every December, Val Thorens hosts the Ski Cross World Cup. The JF Chapuis Ski Cross circuit opens to the public on Wednesday morning on 14, 21 and 28 February, as well as 7 March 2018. Skiers just need to register at the Club des Sports (this is free) and they can ski down the circuits as many time as they want to try to improve their time.
It is also possible to take lesson with the local ski schools to learn ski cross techniques.
Biathlon in Bessans
Bessans, in the Haute Maurienne Vanoise, has a biathlon stadium. With the ESF, improve your skating technique and learn to shoot. It costs €62 for a private class.
