December:

  • 7th – 8th Flachau – Start Up 25: test the latest skis (Atomic, Salomon, Head and more) on perfectly groomed slopes beneath the Achterjet gondola; live music at a selection of huts and prizes also on offer (here).
  • 16th: Gastein – the first of seven full-moon dinners at 1590m in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Wrap up warm for a five-course feast paired with drinks and watch the moon rise - €138 per person (here).

January:

  • 2nd: Zell am See – 2025’s first ski-touring Thursday. Head to the Tristkogel (2642m) with a mountain guide and enjoy undefiled nature far from the bustle of lifts and pistes (€110, includes avalanche/safety equipment, minimum of 4 people: here)

February:

  • 4th – 16th: Saalbach hosts the FIS Alpine World Championships (600 athletes/75 countries), set to be the world’s first green ski event. Race events on the Zwölferkogel open to all visitors with a lift pass. Skiing across the rest of the area (Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang, Fieberbrunn - Skicircus) fully open throughout (here).

March

  • 15th – 22nd: Hochkönig –Taste Ski amadé (Ski & Wine Week). Wine tastings, local organic delicacies, folklore and music through the week. 16 March: ‘Skihuttenroas’ – party on the mountain with traditional music, costumes, food, and old-time skiing (here).

April

  • 10th – 13th: Obertauern – Win a BMW Series 1. Join in the Gamsleiten-Kriterium, the world’s largest treasure hunt. 30 hidden chests contain prizes including one with the key to the BMW (here).
