Saas Fee has ouitlined a project for the new construction of the Hannigbahn 2023 

The license to operate the current runway expires in April 2023. The Hannig area is a very important excursion destination and local recreation area, which is very popular throughout the year. A survey of the second natives of the entire Saas Valley has shown that the Hannigberg is the most important excursion destination of all. As a place of adventure close to the village, it offers a central alternative to classic skiing and has the best future development opportunities. The Saastal Bergbahnen have agreed to rent the Hannigbahn for a period of 30 years, to cover the maintenance and operating costs and thus to bear the entrepreneurial risk. In the evaluation phase, all possible technical variants and lines were examined from different perspectives and their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed. After in-depth analysis work, it has been shown that a monocable gondola with 10-seater gondolas with the current route best covers future needs.

  • The comfortable 10-seater gondolas offer the ideal infrastructure for transporting leisure equipment such as toboggans, bikes, etc.

  • The tobogganing experience is noticeably improved as the return of the toboggan run is redesigned from Hohnegg and tobogganing is possible right up to the Hannig valley station.
