Rossignol Launches 2022 - 2023 ‘Hi-Speed’ Boot Range.

Rossignol has launched 2022/2023 ‘Hi-Speed’ Boot Range. HI-SPEED is designed from the ground up and infused with trickle down technologies from Rossignol’s World Cup Race program.

Rossignol’s new high performance boot brings world cup race design and technology to every expert skier. Rossignol’s Generative Design is a hallmark of the new Dual Core Carbon shell. The 5-zone liner offers precise customization for an incredibly dialed fit. This all makes for a boot that can be easily customized, so that every skier can get the best
 performance from it.

Pascal Roux, Marketing Director for Rossignol ski boots said “Our experience meant that we had strong convictions from the very start of the project. This was a source of great reassurance for the R&D and design teams during 3 years of intensive work.”

  • GENERATIVE DESIGN STRUCTURE. This structure allows Rossignol to optimize material thicknesses in key zones; a more rigid lattice on the lower part of the shell and in the back of the cuff. Other zones optimize thickness to reduce the weight. The Generative Design perfectly combines with the Dual Core molding technology.
  • DUAL CORE CARBON. The first injection is made using Polyurethane reinforced with carbon fibers. This creates a very rigid structure that strengthens the lower part of the shell and helps it to remain stiff under flexion and torsion and dramatically increases the boot’s precision while minimizing weight.
  • ASYMMETRIC DUAL CORE CUFF. The DUAL CORE technology also helps to strengthen the inner side of the cuff to transfer energy and provide better support. In addition to Rossignol’s Dual Core molding technology, the design of the cuff’s hinge has been moved up 1.2cm and forward 1cm, when compared to the 21/22 ALL-SPEED boot. The higher hinge point comes from Rossignol’s race program and Hero boot line; moving the hinge forward better aligns it biomechanically and makes it more accessible in the less extreme angles of the average performance skier (versus a world cup athlete). By mechanically aligning the hinge at the front of the joint HI-SPEED offers easy access to power and excellent foot steering.
  • 5-ZONE LINER. The HI-SPEED liner has a special construction that allows a high level of thermoforming in the ankle bone, metatarsal (1st and 5th) and navicular zones to mold perfectly to the shape of the foot - while the rest of the structure retains its properties for perfect support. This ensures excellent
support and therefore very high technical properties. The 5-Zone liner is pre-formed in each of the five thermoform zones and features a new seamless toe box that has been tested to resist heat loss 20% better than the previous stitched toe box. As part of the HI-SPEED launch, Rossignol brings a new True Form Molding machine to dealers that allows for three levels of customization and a new way of heating boots for thermoforming, simultaneously from both the inside and outside.

Bertrand Barre, CEO – Co-founder of the Zebra group said “The design team’s mission is to understand marketing objectives and therefore the needs of skiers, exploiting R&D innovations to make the material work intelligently and save grams wherever possible.”

R&D, Massimo Polini of Rossignol added “The challenge was to create the 2nd generation Dual Core, using a composite material. Carbon proved to be the best material to maximize the boot's performance.”

The new HI-SPEED piste range comes in 3 internal last sizes of 98, 100 and 102 mm.

Other key features include:

  • NEW BUCKLES - The use of a new buckle system allows us to create a very thin, integrated design.
  • FLEX ADJUSTMENT - The boot's flex can be adjusted up or down by changing the position of the screws on the back of the cuff. Central position - the flex shown on the boot. Moving the screws as pictured in the diagram allows you to adjust the flex by 5 points (+/-).Some description
  • ADJUSTMENT OF FORWARD LEAN - This setting allows you to adjust the forward lean of the boot to make it more aggressive. In standard position - when the boot comes out of the box - the spoiler is in the low position and the angle is 10.6° Adjusting the spoiler to the upper position creates a 6 mm forward lean and a 6 mm height gain, for a forward lean angle of 12.6°
  • CUFF ALIGNMENT - Adjustment of the lateral angle of the cuff by +/- 1° to adapt to the shape of the lower leg.
  • TRUE FORM MOLDING UNIT - which allows dealers to achieve precise thermoforming. A pedestal blows air at a temperature of 80° to thermoform the padding and tongue. The biggest innovation, however, is the use of heated covers - inspired by tire warmers from the motorsport world - to thermoform the external stem of the liner for a perfect result.

1. FULL CUSTOMISATION - HOT AIR + HEATED COVERS: Ultimate customisation- Place the liners under the arm - Close the sleeve - Wrap the liner in the heated cover- Press “Alpine” - Heat the 2 elements for 8 minutes (automatic timer)- Leave the liners for 2 minutes and then put them back in the shells. - Put the boot back on the customer's foot. Tighten it slightly and leave it on for 10 minutes with the buckles closed.

2. CUSTOMISATION Liners in the shell or outside the shell if you prefer- Place the boots under the arms- Pull up the sleeve and fasten it below the buckle on the cuff- Press “Alpine”.- Heat for 8 minutes (automatic timer)- Leave for 2 minutes before putting it on the customer's foot.- Tighten it slightly and leave it on for 10 minutes with the buckles closed.

3. QUICK FIT/ Comfort heating With the liners in the shell- place the boots under the arms- press “PreHeat".- Heat for 2 minutes (automatic timer)- Ready for a quality test.

5 ZONE PRE-SHAPED FULL CUSTOM LINER - Patent pending. The liner is entirely thermoformable (external stem/padding and tongue) What makes it different is a special construction that allows a high level of thermoforming in the ankle bone, metatarsal (1st and 5th) and navicular zones to mold perfectly to the shape of the foot - while the rest of the stem retains its properties for perfect support. This ensures excellent support and therefore very high technical properties. SEAMLESS TOE BOX - To increase the efficiency of the thermal insulation - Rossignol designed a liner with a toe box that retains heat inside the liner. Thermographic studies show that this new design has reduced energy wastage by around 20%.
