Rittner-Horn-Bergbahnen AG: Structuring Concept "Rittner Horn 2028"

The Rittner-Horn-Bergbahnen AG is consistently implementing the "Rittner Horn 2028" structuring concept. The underpass at the middle station of the cable car will be completed in a few days.

Hikers, tobogganists and cross-country skiers can safely cross the ski slope in winter.

The construction blends gently into the landscape and ensures the separation of winter sports enthusiasts at this tricky spot in the ski area.

The new underpass runs 34 meters from the middle station to the western edge of the slope and ends in the winter hiking trail and the toboggan run. Cross-country skiers and ski tourers can also reach their ascent track or the cross-country ski run on the "Schian". In the summer months, the underpass is used as storage space for mats, nets and other safety equipment for winter operations.

In the course of the construction work, rivulets in the slope area were also drained off so that no more ice sheets can form there in winter.

During the summer season, the snowmaking system is to be further expanded in the direction of the valley station. In addition, the toboggan run from the huts (Unterhorn and Feltuner) to the middle station is to be built with the support of the forest authority. In Pemmern, too, the existing slope in the forest is to be adapted so that the children's ski courses can avoid the steep slope. The mountain railway company is investing around 350,000 euros in these measures.

Summer tourism is playing an increasingly important role for cable car facilities. On the Rittner Horn, too, it has been possible to create offers that are well received by hikers, mountain bikers and families with children. The No. 166 bus line, which carried around 70,000 passengers last year, is also well utilized.
