Riesneralm Opens New Ski School Center And "Kisi-Jet"

The Riesneralm in the Austrian tourist region of Schladming-Dachstein is setting new standards in terms of family friendliness next winter. With the opening of a new ski school center and the additional conveyor belt "Kisi-Jet" at the weekend, the children's ski area was expanded to a total of six hectares. The Riesneralm Bergbahnen invested around 750,000 euros in the expansion, thereby consolidating its position as one of the largest family ski areas in Austria.

A total of seven different slopes and five different lifts are now available, including the new "Kisi-Jet", a 168-meter-long conveyor belt that makes it easier for even the very youngest to climb. The new ski school center is located right in the heart of the children's ski area, allowing professional childcare close to the slopes. A comfortable lounge, toilet facilities, snack machines and a relaxation area - especially for mothers with small children - are available for parents and accompanying persons.

The slope area for children is the size of eight football fields.

"With the latest expansion, we have not only gained in size, but also in quality for our young and old guests," emphasizes Erwin Petz, Managing Director of the Riesneralm Bergbahnen. Austria's first children's ski area now includes a slope area that is comparable in size to eight football stadiums. On the five slopes with their own lifts, the youngest children, as well as adult beginners, can make their first turns in the snow undisturbed.

Mathias Schattleitner, Managing Director of the Schladming-Dachstein tourism region, is also enthusiastic about the innovations on the Riesneralm: "High-quality investments and new offers for the whole family always mean a further step towards even more quality for our region. Managing Director Erwin Petz and his team have once again achieved great things with the expansion of the ski school center and the additional conveyor belt “Kisi-Jet.”
