Registration For Competitors & Volunteers Opens For Scottish Banked Slalom 2022
Saturday March 12, Snowsport Scotland is hosting Banked Slalom 2022, a new event on the Scottish snow calendar. Weather depending, the competition will be held at the Glenshee Ski Centre in the Cairngorms National Park.
Between the hours of 8:30AM and 16:30PM on March 12, the Glenshee Ski Centre will be alive with spectators gathering to watch snowboarders competing to put down the fastest time, either for glory or just to beat pals.
Anyone that wants to compete is invited to register before March 10 at 12PM (late entries will incur an additional £5 charge). Ticket prices are as followed:
FULL PRICE Ticket – £15: for non-members of Snowsport Scotland or one of its registered clubs. This ticket includes a temporary membership with Snowsport Scotland for the event which includes public liability insurance cover.
DISCOUNTED MEMBER Ticket – £10: for current Snowsport Scotland and Registered Snowsports Club members (who already have public liability insurance).
There’s a category for everyone, with the winner of each being awarded a prize. Each category will feature divisions for both male and female, and single and double planks.
- Groms – Under12’s (YOB 2010 or earlier)
- Guns – Under18 (YOB 2004 or earlier)
- Almost washed 18-30 (YOB 2005 to 1992)
- Masters 30-39 (YOB 1993 to 1983)
- Legends 40-49 (YOB 1982 to 1972)
- Immortals 50+ (YOB 1971 or earlier)
Snowboarders with disabilities and special support needs are also encouraged to register.
The Banked Slalom won’t run itself. Snowsport Scotland are also after volunteers to help shovel, park build, officiate, DJ… So, if you want to get involved, get in touch with the organisers as soon as!
