Rab Presents New Khroma Converge Ski Outfit With Gore-tex Product Technology With ePE Membrane

British outdoor brand Rab (owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.) has launched its new Khroma Converge Jacket and Pants for ski adventures, featuring new GORE-TEX Product Technology with innovative ePE membrane, to consumers in AW24. This follows the introduction of PFAS-free membranes in Rab’s Namche GTX Jacket and GORE-TEX glove range in AW23, reflecting the brand’s ongoing transition towards a PFAS-free shell collection by AW25.

The Khroma Converge made from recycled materials is a versatile ski outfit for men and women offering all-mountain protection and next-level comfort through its warm backer technology. With a comprehensive feature set, the Khroma Converge is primed for tackling powder descents, steep big mountain terrain, and technical riding.

The ePE (expanded polyethylene) membrane used in new GORE-TEX Products is a key milestone in responsible performance, providing high-performing, durable materials engineered for long product life without the use of intentionally added per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS). Data shows these new membranes have a lower carbon impact than predecessors (through the laminate‘s innovative membrane and select textiles (per Higg MSI)*), while maintaining the GORE-TEX “Guaranteed to Keep You Dry” promise.

Rab’s journey to phase out intentionally added PFAS began in 2013 with experimentation on PFAS-free technologies. Currently, 95% of Rab’s DWR-treated fabrics are PFAS-free, and the brand is on track to eliminate all intentionally added PFAS from its product offering by AW25 (with the exception of expedition suits made for use in extreme environments). This shift requires changes in product care, with Rab emphasising the importance of regular maintenance, washing, and re-proofing to optimise performance. Through its Service Centre, Rab offers comprehensive care advice to retailers and consumers.

Through Rab’s Material Facts, an industry-first launched to consumers in AW23, consumers can easily identify the PFAS status of each product component, either in the fabric, down, zips or trims. This allows more informed decisions around purchasing choices.
