Protest Launches All New PVRE Green Collection For FW2022/23

Introducing Protest’s new PVRE Green collection for FW2022/2023. Protest is working towards a greener tomorrow. With every season, the collection is evolving to include more and more sustainable fabrics and greener ways of producing this clothing. This PVRE Green FW2022/2023 collection is focusing on the use of recycled polyester, in jackets, trousers and fleeces.

Protest recognizes the huge importance of protecting this planet for the generations to come. At Protest, they make clothes for people who are happiest outdoors, on a wave or on a mountain. It’s part of their mission as an outdoor brand to ensure that they do what is necessary to protect this environment. In the FW2020 Protest announced they were taking the steps necessary to Green Up the way they work. Protest reviewed and improved the way their garments were made, using more sustainable fabrics and following greener practices. After the journey to Green Up, sustainability now forms an integral part of the collection. The clothing within the collection that is either made using sustainable fabrics or processes has the PVRE Green label. PVRE Green is Protest’s commitment to this wonderful planet. This season PVRE Green items can also be found in the boys’ and girls’ collections. With every season Protest will continue to evaluate how they can work more sustainably for a better tomorrow. Together to green.

The collection For the FW22/23 winter collection nearly all of the new men’s jacket styles are made using recycled polyester. Recycling polyester gives a second life to a material that is not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. To produce this material, used plastic bottles and other PET plastics are melted down and re-spun into a new polyester fiber. Recycled polyester is almost the same as virgin polyester in terms of quality, but its production requires 59% less energy compared to virgin polyester. With demand for polyester constantly rising, Protest is doing what they can by using this alternative to virgin polyester.

Recycled polyester is the ideal fabric for functional clothing like Protest’s ski and snowboard jackets and trousers. This season, Protest’s most technical jackets – the men’s PRTWINNIPEG, PRTTAUPO and PRTONEGA and the women’s PRTSHEENAS - are made using recycled polyester with 20K water resistance and 20g breathability as well as many other technical features, like waterproof zippers and fully taped seams. The PRTCOMO and the PRTGENEVA anoraks from the men’s parkstyle group of 10K jackets are also all PVRE Green. For the women’s collection, Protest has also created the new long length jacket, the PRTAZALEA, the perfect blend of street looks with added winter functionality.

PRTTAYMYR Protest has a range of clothing that they make sure they have stocked all year round. That’s because these pieces have a timeless appeal and they fit in every season and every wardrobe. This season this STOCK collection has been added to with new sustainable styles. From the new outdoor series, the men’s PRTGATEWOOD and PRTBRYSON as well as the women’s PRTTISLIT longer length raincoat are all made using recycled polyester. Then for the first time in STOCK, there is a pair of ski and snowboard trousers made from recycled PET, the PRTSTATICE. These trousers have 10K water resistance and 10g breathability combined with features like fully taped seams, ergonomically pre-shaped legs and an anti-slip waistband.

For this, Protest teamed up with REPREVE, a specialist in upgrading used plastic into a superior functional fabric. The resulting technical polyamide is made from pre-consumer waste material making it a by-product of production itself. The material is lightweight, moisture-wicking and insulating. Perfect fabric for base layers.
