PrimaLoft, Inc. And Fiberpartner Announce New Global License Agreement
PrimaLoft, Inc., the leader in advanced material technology, today announced a new partnership agreement with Fiberpartner, a global supplier of stapled fibers, technical yarns and plastics. This new licensing agreement allows for Fiberpartner to develop the use of Primaloft’s groundbreaking PrimaLoft Bio technology in multiple new industries.
Fiberpartner ApS is a leading supplier of staple fibers to clients within nonwovens, home textile and other industrial applications worldwide. As a family-owned business, they have more than 160 years of experience in textile. Today, Fiberpartner is offering strong technical and commercial expertise in staple fibers as a raw material. They partner with manufacturers and customers in the researching, developing, sourcing and delivering of fibers at the right quality-to-price ratio for different applications and end-uses. Sustainability is a keyword: a majority of fibers supplied are created from recycled raw materials, namely recycled polyester (RPET). Fiberpartner is located in Denmark, with offices in Bulgaria, Estonia, Poland, Mexico and South Africa.
Fiberpartner CEO, Thomas Wittrup says, “We see an increasing demand for biodegradable polyester, and consider PrimaLoft’s technology to be a game-changer. The staple fibers produced with PrimaLoft Bio from Fiberpartner will be developed to supplement regular polyester fiber for use in a variety of applications. Together, we can begin the journey towards a more sustainable world.”
PrimaLoft Bio is made from biodegradable, 100% recycled fibers that break down when exposed to specific environments – such as landfills, oceans and wastewater systems.
PrimaLoft Bio enhances fibers to be more attractive to naturally-occurring microbes found in these environments; in so doing, fibers are broken down at a faster rate, returning polyester to natural elements. These fibers maintain their structure throughout use, only biodegrading* when exposed to the naturally-occurring microorganisms found in landfills or marine environments.
Mike Joyce, president and CEO of PrimaLoft adds, “PrimaLoft Bio is an important step forward in providing sustainable solutions for microfiber pollution, throughout the entire life-cycle of a product. We are excited to begin this relationship with Fiberpartner and to bring this responsible technology to a multitude of industries.”
