Presentation Of The Summer Quality Seal Of The International Ski Area Test Takes Place
The presentation of the summer awards and the presentation of the summer quality seal of the international ski area test took place in the Pinzgablick mountain restaurant on the Resterhöhe in Mittersill (Kitzski). Skiareatest President Klaus Hönigsberger was on the road with his Skiareatest team in the summer season in the European Alps and tested the participating tourism destinations according to the comprehensive Skiareatest categories.
The results of the summer season were announced in the unique, rustic ambience of the mountain restaurant and the artistically designed crystal awards from Kisslinger Kristallglas from Rattenberg/Tyrol were presented to the winners. 200 guests from the cable car and tourism industry, including the guests of honor Mag. Josef Schwaiger, Olympic and world champion Fritz Strobl, Kitz ski legend Hias Leitner, Managing Director of Mittersill plus Tourismus Mag. Michael Sinnhuber, Mayor of Bad Ischl Ines Schiller, Mayor of Mittersill Dr. Wolfgang Viertler and Mayor of Bramberg Hannes Enzinger accepted the invitation from Klaus Hönigsberger and his Vice Presidents.
The representatives of Dachstein Krippenstein from Upper Austria beamed with joy and received the coveted award "Skiareatestsieger Sommer 2022" GOLD. Dachstein Krippenstein is a true paradise for families - with the 5fingers viewing platform and cave tours and climbing routes for all levels of difficulty. The “Fun & Action” GOLD and the “Clear Mountain Award” GOLD also went to the cable car company. Together with Pronatour project manager Stephan Grausam, who also received the special award "Project & Construction Management", Dachstein Krippenstein also secured the "Art & Culture" award in DOUBLE GOLD for the new staging of the Dachstein giant ice cave. The "Operations Manager Trophy" was presented to Wolfgang Steiner and Franz Schreder received the "Most Popular Employee" award.
Also in Upper Austria is the Grünberg cable car Gmunden - which inspires young and old with its summer toboggan run, an adventure playground and the treetop path with a 39 meter high observation tower. For this offer, the International Ski Area Test gave the awards "Fun & Action" GOLD, "Ideas & Implementation" GOLD, "Best Children's Offer" as well as the "Safety Trophy" and "Most Popular Cash Desk Team".
The "Nostalgia Trophy" GOLD was awarded to the Katrin cable car. The charming 4-seater cable car with the "friendliest railway staff" has been taking the residents and guests of the spa and imperial town of Bad Ischl up to the Katrin Alm since 1959. There they can relax in the "most popular alpine hut", the Katrin Almhütte, or in the "most popular mountain restaurant “, the Katrin Berggasthof, let yourself be pampered with culinary delights and enjoy the view of the valley. Johannes Aldrian, Managing Director of the Katrin cable car, received the "Cable Car Operator of the Year 2022" award and Robert Lindenbauer won the "Operations Manager Trophy".
The ARGE Resterhöhe, a community of Kitzski, Bergrestaurant Pinzgablick, TVB Mittersill+ and the Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen, can call itself "climber of the year 2022" from this year. Together with Gartenbau Kerschdorfer from Stumm in the Zillertal, their representatives also received the "Ideas & Implementation" GOLD and "Best Children's Offer" GOLD awards for the Resterkogel summer experience and Irmgard Silberberger was honored for the "Ecological Construction Supervision".
The Hohsaas mountain railways in the canton of Valais were honored as "Most Climber of the Year Summer 2022" GOLD Switzerland for the "Friendliest checkout team", "Best children's offer", "Fun & Action" and "Technical Product Development". In the Kreuzboden-Hohsaas area you can experience an exciting day with the family - for the kids there are plenty of opportunities to let off steam in Hohsi-Land - and Valais is also an absolute insider tip on the mountain bike scene. The view of 18 four-thousanders alone is unique. The mountain railway company received the "Summer Seal of Approval" for the "Trotti route". The “Cable Car Operator of the Year 2022” award went to Managing Director Bruno Ruppen and the “Technical Manager” trophy went to Fernando Bilgischer.
The Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen was awarded the “Adventure & Family Mountain 2022” GOLD. The delegation with CEO KR Gerald Gabauer from Lower Austria also received the GOLD award for the "Best Children's Offer" and the "Summer Seal of Approval Cart Route" DOPPELGOLD. Various hiking routes and themed trails for children promise fun for the whole family and on Austria's first roller and mountain cart track - the more than 2 km long natural slope leads through a wonderful forest and meadow landscape with steep curves, waves and tunnels - action is guaranteed! In the "Sports Shop of the Year 2022", the service & rental station Erlebnisalm Mönichkirchen, you will find - in addition to hiking equipment and e-bike rental - also the "friendliest sports shop employees".
The "Family Mountain 2022" GOLD is in Styria this summer. The representatives of the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe were also awarded the "Fun & Action" GOLD, "Best Children's Offer" GOLD and "Most Popular Railway Personnel" awards as well as the "Event Trophy" and the "Safety Trophy". The WanderWunderWald is a great experience for the whole family and the Wald8er Bahn "Flylinas Hexenflug" and the WakeAlps - Europe's highest water ski lift on the Kristallsee in Holzknechtland - provide thrills.
For their Alpenrosenweg, the Reuttener Bergwelt Hahnenkamm received the special award "Barrier-free" GOLD as well as the awards "Ideas & Implementation" GOLD - with which Ing. Andreas Schreieck and Ing. Bernhard P. Gruber were also awarded - and "Friendliest checkout team". The Alpenrosenweg was opened as a special highlight in spring 2022 and enables wheelchair users to experience the high alpine terrain on a 1.8 km long, barrier-free route.
This summer, the “Art and Music” GOLD award was presented to the Stummer Schrei team for their 2022 culture festival. In addition, Consul Christoph Crepaz received the special award "Festival Management".
Of course, the catering establishments were also closely examined during the ski area test in summer. With Fridel Schipflinger, Rosi's Sonnbergstuben has the "Chef of the Year 2022" and the "Friendliest Staff". The Pinzgablick mountain restaurant on the Resterhöhe/Mittersill in the Kitzski ski area secured itself the award for the “Most popular mountain restaurant”. The Greizerhütte, a DAV refuge in Floitengrund in Ginzling/Zillertal, received two awards: "Most popular mountain hut" GOLD and "Friendliest staff". For the tenants, Herbert and Irmi Schneeberger, this is - after 31 years! – the last summer at the Greizerhütte.
Skiareatest President Klaus Hönigsberger successfully hosted the award ceremony and ensured satisfied guests and happy award winners. "Schwarzenstoa Koral with friends" played and the invited company was spoiled with culinary delights by the Pinzgablick team.
The International Ski Area Test is an anonymous quality check with comprehensive test criteria. Founder and President Klaus Hönigsberger has actually reached retirement age at the age of 70 in excellent health and is proud that he has created an exchange platform among ski areas and tourist destinations with the international ski area test. The award ceremonies are not only award ceremonies but also cross-border industry meetings.
Over 220 experienced Skiareatest members from a wide variety of professions and nationalities collect anonymous impressions and evaluate the participating ski resorts with know-how, objectivity, seriousness and experience. The international ski area test has meanwhile developed into a premium brand and is used for the constant further development of quality, safety and the offers in Alpine tourism. The renowned, recognized quality check has been on the road in over 430 ski and tourism destinations so far.
