POWDR Welcomes Sustainability Executive To Team

POWDR, the leading adventure lifestyle company, today announced that Raj Basi will join the company as Vice President of Sustainability. Basi brings with him over 30 years of experience with environmental monitoring, law, and policy. At POWDR, he will be responsible for leading, inspiring, advising, developing, and implementing strategies, tactics, and programs that will advance POWDR’s sustainability and charitable giving goals both internally and externally. He will also further align POWDR’s sustainability and charitable giving strategy across the company’s portfolio.

Welcoming Basi to the team, POWDR CEO, Justin Sibley, commented, “We’re fortunate to attract the level of talent and experience that Raj brings with him to POWDR. He will, no doubt, continue our Play Forever efforts by creating and implementing strategies and initiatives around climate, sustainability, and charitable giving. In addition, he will be a value-add to our team as we work collaboratively to advocate for policies that further enhance POWDR’s Play Forever commitment.”

Basi said about joining POWDR, “I have spent much of my career working towards a role like this – and to be able to advance policies around renewable energy, water conservation, and waste reduction, among others, for an innovative, mission-driven industry leader like POWDR is exciting. I am looking forward to diving right in.”

Basi earned a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in natural resources and environmental law from the Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, OR. He also has experience working on environmental issues for Native American tribes, NGOs, and public and private companies of all sizes. He is passionate about the environment and has spent his career working across the United States, Africa, and Asia engaging with stakeholders of various perspectives to help build more inclusive, collaborative and sustainable companies and economies. As an attorney, he advised on energy, ESG issues, and regulatory compliance nationwide and has been a vocal proponent of sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility.

Basi grew up in Alaska, where he found his love of the outdoors and earned his bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Alaska Pacific University. He spent his summers on fisheries and wildlife environmental impact monitoring programs in the arctic and then clerked for the EPA’s region 10 before beginning his legal and policy career.
