PNW Platinum Powder Pass Sweepstakes Offers All-Season Access To 26 Ski Areas, Supports Workforce & Safety Initiatives

The Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association (PNSAA) announces the Pacific NW Platinum Powder Pass Sweepstakes has grown to 26 ski areas, a fund raising effort aiming to enhance skier experiences while simultaneously funding pivotal workforce education and safety programs.

The grand prize—a Platinum Powder Pass—grants unbridled, all-season access to 26 ski areas across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, offering skiers and snowboarders a robust variety of terrains and experiences to explore throughout the winter season. Washington’s Loup Loup Skibowl is the latest ski area to offer up its season pass - the entire list of resorts can be found on the sweepstakes website.

"With the Platinum Powder Pass Sweepstakes, we're not just offering access to premier Pacific Northwest ski destinations. Every entry donation supports workforce education through Mountain Works Programing and avalanche safety programs. It's a win-win: you get winter adventure, and our community benefits through PNSAA and NWAC programs," says Jordan Elliott, President of PNSAA.

Elevating Industry Training with OSU Collaboration

A portion of the funds raised from the sweepstakes will be channeled into workforce education programs. With a mission to represent the common interests of the membership by providing education, PNSAA helped launch the Lift Operations and Maintenance Training programs at Oregon State University (OSU), which provides:

  • Lift Operations Training: Ensuring new hires are equipped with foundational knowledge and skills, reducing risk and enhancing the safety of lift operations.

  • Lift Maintenance Training: Offering an NSAA-aligned, Level 1 training designed to elevate seasoned lift operators into technical roles, further solidifying the reliability and expertise of resort operations.

Upholding Safety: Benefitting PNSAA and NWAC Programs

The sweepstakes also shines a spotlight on safety, with funds benefiting:

  • PNSAA Workforce Education Programs: Supporting various initiatives that elevate operational and safety standards in resorts.

  • Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) Avalanche Safety Programs: Assisting in mitigating avalanche risks through research, forecasting, and educational programs designed to safeguard those exploring winter landscapes.
