Planai Outlines Strategy And Positioning Concept 2024+
After an intensive year-long development process, the strategy and positioning concept 2024+ was successfully adopted at the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen at the end of March. This intensive process, which took place in close collaboration with around 40 Planai employees, was accompanied by external experts from the ICG Integrated Consulting Group, led by Mag. Bruno Burkhart, and received the official approval of the Supervisory Board at the end of March 2024 .
An important milestone in this process was the development of a “mission statement” that reflects the company’s core values. The goal is to be an innovative leading company and offer outstanding leisure experiences and delight our guests. Sustainable action, competent and committed employees, distinctive offers, the further development of the entire Schladming-Dachstein region, economic independence and the tradition of Styrian hospitality are of crucial importance.
Strategic goals set for successful further development
The 2024+ project strategy not only includes a general positioning of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH, but also clear directions and strategies for the company's diverse business areas. These include the Planai and Hochwurzen mountains in winter and summer, Galsterberg winter, Wilder Berg Mautern summer as well as the year-round areas of Dachstein and the bus service.
In addition, key strategies were developed for cross-business topics that affect the entire company. Topics such as “organization and efficiency”, “digitalization and automation”, “development of new business areas” and “sustainability” were of crucial importance here.
Investment plan for sustainable growth
Another important step was the development of an investment plan for necessary major investments. This plan has been carefully categorized according to priority and will be implemented in a step-by-step plan depending on the economic situation and continuously evaluated.
“This year-long intensive strategy process was an important step in defining and recording the goals and visions for the future of the Planai-Hochwurzen railways. A big thank you goes to our around 40 employees who accompanied this process. This guarantees that these results are widely supported and lived by the entire Planai team. We would also like to thank the supervisory board of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen - in particular the state of Styria as the majority owner - for their approval of the 2024+ project strategy," said Dir. Georg Bliem, Managing Director of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH.
“The Planai-Hochwurzen railways are an internationally known, tourist flagship of Styria and a very important economic engine for the Schladming-Dachstein adventure region. The new strategy lays the foundation for the company's future development and will further consolidate PHB's position as one of the most important cable car companies in Austria. What is particularly positive is that the strategy was developed with the involvement of employees,” said State Tourism Councilor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl.
