Planai - Helicopter Flies In Towers For 10-Seater Rohrmoos Gondola
The mountain station of the new 10-seater Rohrmoos I gondola lift was largely completed in autumn 2023. This was followed by the spectacular support flight of the Super Puma helicopter.
Cable excavation work is currently being carried out along the route, while foundation work is in full swing in the new multifunctional valley station building. With the help of the powerful Super Puma helicopter, five supports have now been positioned precisely and safely at their intended locations.
Working according to a precise flight plan, two work crews of five people each were deployed along the route. The support parts were flown to the respective locations from the take-off point at the Planai West valley station. The assembly involved supports four to eight and required a total of 25 rotations. The heaviest part weighed 3,000 kilograms.
The modern 10-person cable car can transport 2,400 people per hour to Rohrmoos. The opening of the new cable car is planned for December 2024.
