Pitztal Glacier Opens April 17th
From Saturday, April 17th, skiing on the Pitztal Glacier will resume. The “Pitztal Wild Face” freeride event will take place at the same time.

DACH TIROLS will open again on Saturday, April 17th for skiers, snowboarders and ski tourers. The Gletscherexpress, the Wildspitzbahn, the Gletscherseebahn, the Brunnenkogel drag lift and the Mittagskogel practice lift are in operation daily from 7.15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There are suitable runs on natural snow for every level. The Tirol-Regio Card and the Snow Card Tirol are still valid.

Ski touring park open
The ski touring park powered by DYNAFIT will also be open to tourers from April 17th. Three different routes with different degrees of difficulty start from the mountain station of the Gletscherexpress. The ascent tracks in the secured ski area are laid out in such a way that there are no points of contact with downhill skiers or snowboarders.
The corresponding Covid-19 measures, such as wearing an FFP2 mask for lift and gondola rides as well as in the queuing area, must be observed. Access to the glacier ski area is only permitted with a valid negative Covid test result. Children up to the age of 10 and ski tourers are excluded.

Freeride event " Pitztal Wild Face " on April 17th
Parallel to the opening of the Pitztal glacier ski area, the twelfth edition of the freeride race "Pitztal Wild Face" will take place on Saturday, April 17th. In compliance with the applicable Covid-19 guidelines, around 75 participants from eight nations will start in four categories. From the summit cross of the Mittagskogel to the parking lot of the valley station of the Gletscherexpress, the athletes complete a 4.5-kilometer descent with an altitude of over 1,500 meters. Due to the Covid-19 situation, there is no spectator area. Interested parties can follow the competition via the social media channels of the Pitztal Glacier, the Pitztal Wild Face and the Pitztal Tourism Association. The race starts at 12.30 p.m.
