Pillerseetal Offers Unique Themed Hikes
Nature is considered the greatest source of strength for body and mind. In the Pillerseetal, the easternmost tip of the Kitzbühel Alps, you will not only find untouched regions, but also experts * who love and know their homeland like the back of their hand. They take guests on specially developed themed hikes and raise awareness of the area. The herbalist explains the healing properties of plants. The relaxation specialist leads the "Shinrin Yoku" to the inner center through conscious awareness in the forest. And the Manggei expert shows what you normally only hear: marmots.
" Nature is a set table, help yourself, " says Birgit Schwaiger. She is an expert in botany. She takes her twice a week to the forest near Fieberbrunn, looking for herbs and identifying plants: from cowslip to willowherb to bearberry and many more. After the short hike, Birgit invites you to her herb parlor, where juices, teas, ointments and spreads are made under her guidance. You can also create natural cosmetics and even soaps, all of which can of course be tried and taken away. A special highlight is the introduction to the art of smoking: The healing vapors have been used in the Alps for medical purposes and traditional rituals since ancient times. The "Medicinal Herb Hikes & Workshop" offer always takes place on Thursdays at 9.30 am and Saturdays at 2 pm (duration approx. Three hours) and costs 35 euros per person.
If you want to experience the spiritual power of nature, relaxation expert Lisa Flatscher joins the " Shirin Yoku ". The trend from Japan literally means "immersion in the forest atmosphere" and is the program for the walks. By consciously experiencing and feeling nature, you can recharge your batteries and reduce everyday stress. In addition, you learn a lot of “amazing” things about forest science and ecology. Targeted meditation as well as mindfulness and sensory exercises complete the experience. Lisa Flatscher always meets on Mondays at 4 p.m. for “forest bathing” in Waidring. The course is free with the Kitzbüheler Alpen guest card, without a GK the course costs 19 euros per person.
On the third hike it gets beastly, in the truest sense of the word: Because here you will still meet a genuine Pillerseetal mountain dweller. Every Monday, Peter Kendlbacher takes young and old to the “ Manggei ”, as the Tyroleans affectionately call the marmot. From the meeting point at the village square in Fieberbrunn, the three to four-hour easy mountain hike leads up to the home of the shy rodents that are otherwise rarely seen in the wild. Thanks to the expertise of the mountain guide, the participants meet the whistling animal personally and learn all kinds of interesting facts about its history and living conditions on the mountain. The “Manggei hike” costs from 35 euros for adults.
