Personnel Changes At German Ski Federation
After completion of the head coaches' retreat, which took place from 08.-10.4.2018 in the Panorama Hotel Oberjoch in Bad Hindelang-Oberjoch, the sports management of the DSV announced personnel changes. Possible further personnel and structural decisions will be announced in the coming weeks according to the respective coaching practices of the individual disciplines.
Bernd Brunner becomes the new discipline coach of the World Cup team Slalom / Giant Slalom. Albert Doppelhofer, who was responsible for the last nine years as the leading discipline coach for the World Cup team led by Felix Neureuther and Fritz Dopfer, will take over the management of the newly created perspective cadre and will ensure the transfer of know-how in the system in the future.
Bernd Brunner takes over the leadership of the World Cup team in his place. The 47-year-old coach from Tyrol has worked in the US ski team for the past six years. From 2012 to 2016, he led the team around Bode Miller and Ted Ligety. For the past two years, Brunner has been responsible for the interdisciplinary European Cup team.
Before joining the US ski team, the two-time family man Brunner worked in various positions in the Austrian Ski Association, where he also completed his training as a licensed trainer.
"I am looking forward to the new challenge in the German Ski Association and would like to contribute my experience and my know-how to the alpine men's team," says Bernd Brunner. "My predecessor Albert Doppelhofer has done an excellent job in recent years and our entire coaching team is highly motivated to continue this success story."
