Pats Peak Donates $1,500 To Support Melanoma Research
Pats Peak, New Hampshire's premier snowsports destination, announces that as part of Pats Peak’s March Midweek Online Specials, SPF Days Go Sun Smart, they have donated $1,500 to support melanoma research. Over the past 7 years Pats Peak has donated over $19,500 to "Peter's Fund Racer" from this March Special.
Midweek Lift tickets were purchased in advance online for only $30 and a portion of the lift ticket went toward the donation to "Peter's Fund Racer" to support melanoma research. As an added bonus, skiers and riders received a lip balm to protect their lips from the sun's rays.
Kris Blomback, General Manager of Pats Peak said, “We understand that skiers and riders are looking for a deal on spring skiing in March. We are happy to continue to offer this great deal and contribute to the efforts to help raise money for melanoma research.”
The primary focus is to raise money for melanoma research. Malignant melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer. The number of people who develop melanoma is increasing faster than any other cancer. Deaths from complications of this disease are increasing at a faster rate than deaths from any other form of cancer except lung cancer. On May 23, 1999, melanoma claimed the life of Peter M. Newton at the age of 46.
