Pats Peak Donates $1,100 To Support Melanoma Research
Pats Peak announces that as part of Pats Peak’s March Midweek Online Specials, SPF Days Go Sun Smart, they have donated $1,100 to support melanoma research. Over $18,000 has been donated to "Peter's Fund Racer" over the past 6 years.
Skiers and riders purchased a lift ticket online in advance to ski/ride for only $25 and a portion of their lift ticket purchase went toward a donation to "Peter's Fund Racer" to support melanoma research. Guests also received a lip balm to protect their lips from the sun's rays.
Kris Blomback, General Manager of Pats Peak said, “Skier and riders are looking for midweek deals for spring skiing and riding in March. We are proud to contribute to the efforts to help raise money for melanoma research.”
The primary focus is to raise money for melanoma research and patient care. Malignant melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer. The number of people who develop melanoma is increasing faster than any other cancer. Deaths from complications of this disease are increasing at a faster rate than deaths from any other form of cancer except lung cancer. On May 23, 1999, melanoma claimed the life of Peter M. Newton at the age of 46.
