Patagonia Previews FW 2022 Snow Collection

Patagonia has previewed their FW22 line-up – it’s an exciting season full of innovation, updates and new products.

Notable is the Storm Shift jacket and pants - the first ever fully PFC-free GORE-TEX snow kit made with a 100% recycled face fabric. Significant redesigns and improvements have also been made to two iconic Patagonia insulation collections – the Down Sweater and Micro Puff. You’ll also see a move towards recycled TPU packs - a first for the industry.

We are also excited to launch the Patagonia Warmth Index - a 1-10 scale of the relative warmth of Patagonia jackets and vests, calculated by materials testing performed in the Patagonia lab. The higher the score, the warmer the garment.

This season, Patagonia's designers focused on lasting weather protection and reduced environmental impact with the new Storm Shift Kit and the Powder Town series. After multiple years of testing and revisions, Patagonia has finally removed persistent perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) from 100% of our versatile all-mountain styles without sacrificing durable and reliable performance.

A half-decade ago, Patagonia partnered with Gore on a quest to shift the status quo: create a relentlessly waterproof snow kit using the first-ever PFC-free GORE-TEX membrane, fabric and DWR (durable water repellent) platform, eliminating the need for long-lasting fluorinated chemicals and further reducing our collective environmental footprint. The Storm Shift Series is the result of those years-long efforts, an all-new, PFC-free outerwear collection built with 100% recycled face fabric that endures an elemental shift in storm protection and a significant step for both Patagonia and GORE’s rigorous durability standards.

Storm Shift

The Storm Shift kit is Patagonia’s first nonfluorinated GORE-TEX membrane and DWR finish, with the same waterproof, breathable, durable, “Guaranteed to Keep You Dry” storm protection.

Body-mapped jacquard fleece liner for a wide range of thermal protection and a low warmth- to-weight ratio, with a zigzag pattern that wicks moisture and dries quickly.

Low-profile, self-tensioning powder skirt snaps into all Patagonia Snow pants, sealing out wind and snow and ensuring skirt stays securely in place. Ultradurable and waterproof front-pocket zippers with a protective quarter-length cover are placed over for easy, unobstructed access.

Powder Town

No PFCs on a powder day. Lasting weather protection with less environmental impact. After multiple years of testing and revision, we have removed persistent PFC chemicals from 100% of their versatile all-mountain styles, without sacrificing reliable performance. This collection is fully featured for versatility and focused on mobility and includes insulated and non-insulated pieces. Enjoy PFC-free party laps in the new Powder Town series.

Mountain Uitlity Pants

After more than 10 years of testing with the most dedicated patrollers and mountain guides, Patagonia worked with seasoned ski patrollers, mountain operations pros, and the brand’s Repair Facility to build the burliest mountain work pants available. This knowledge informs function, form and durability in many other Snow garments, yet the Mountain Utility Pants are the gruffest and most rugged around. Entire garment is PFC-free.
