Patagonia 5K Returns, Presented by Excelsior Running Club & Hosted On Movemint

Movemint, in partnership with Patagonia SF and Excelsior Running Club, is proud to announce the return of the Patagonia 5K on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Golden Gate Park. After a successful inaugural race, this year’s event promises an even better experience for runners of all levels.

The Patagonia 5K is a USATF Pacific Association-sanctioned race and is part of the 2025 USATF Pacific Road Racing Grand Prix. The 5K race kicks off at 8:30 AM and will feature a scenic 5K loop starting at Peacock Meadows, following a lollipop course along JFK Drive, circling Blue Heron Lake, and returning to the start.

What’s new this year?

This year’s Patagonia 5K brings several improvements, including:

  • A USATF-certified course
  • Individual mile splits to help runners track their progress
  • A larger permit to accommodate more participants
  • Prize money for non-binary athletes and clubs not affiliated with USATF Pacific Association

“We’re excited to bring this race back with a bigger and better experience,” said Paul Atienza, Event Director. “With the support of Patagonia SF, Excelsior Running Club, and Movemint, we’re continuing to create an inclusive and competitive event for the local running community.”
