OBB Providing 8,400 Additional Seats For The Ski World Championships
The Ski World Championships will take place in Saalbach Hinterglemm in the first two weeks of February. To ensure that sports enthusiasts can travel to this major event easily and sustainably, the ÖBB is providing 8,400 additional seats.
The ÖBB will offer 24 additional connections on the route between Vienna and Maishofen-Saalbach and the ÖBB Postbus service has also been significantly increased: From Maishofen-Saalbach station to the race track, the buses will run at shorter intervals and take passengers directly from the station to the fan mile.
On each race day, a special train with a direct connection from Vienna Westbahnhof to Maishofen-Saalbach and back will be set up. This makes it possible for World Cup visitors to arrive and depart within one day. The Vienna semester break ends on the weekends of February 8 and 9, 2025, which is why an increased number of arrivals and departures of multi-day guests are expected. For this reason, there will be an additional direct connection on these days. The ÖBB is thus increasing the offer by around 350 additional seats with each additional train. The timetable for the World Cup special trains can be found at oebb.at.
To ensure that there are enough seats available for all spectators and travelers, ÖBB recommends reserving seats in advance. Seat reservations are available at tickets.oebb.at , in the ÖBB app, at the ÖBB ticket counter and from ÖBB customer service from € 3.00.
