NOVALTITUDE Receives Strong Austrian Participation From Salzburg Company ARENA,
The Interreg Alpine Space supports projects that address the common challenges of the Alpine region. The NOVALTITUDE project, which involves partners from six Alpine countries, has now made it into the second round and is one step closer to implementation. The project receives strong Austrian participation from the Salzburg company ARENA, which specializes in geodata-based piste management.
The Interreg Alpine Space program finances cooperation projects that address the challenges of the Alpine region across national borders. With courage and innovation, the quality of life of the approximately 80 million inhabitants of the Alpine region should be improved through various projects. The current call for submissions for project ideas runs until 2027 and focuses on 4 main areas. One of them is called “Contributions to innovation and digitalization for a green Alpine region”. In this area, the Salzburg company ARENA would like to contribute its profound know-how in slope management and emphasize its pioneering role in the Alpine sustainability movement.
Important preparatory work and expertise
Together with five ski areas and tourism regions in France, Italy, Slovenia, Germany and Switzerland, ARENA has submitted the NOVALTITUDE project. The aim is to develop and implement new methods that save important resources in the areas of energy, water, waste management and mobility. At the same time, these methods should be data-based and easily managed via a common platform. In this regard, ARENA has already done very important preparatory work, because the ARENA piste management consulting and service package creates exactly that for ski areas: the use of resources in technical snowmaking can be reduced by up to 25%. “With our knowledge and findings, we can make an important contribution to securing and improving the quality of life of people in the Alpine region in the long term,” explains ARENA CEO Robert Sölkner determinedly. The third round of selection for project approval begins on March 8th.
