New TechnoAlpin Switzerland Site Officially Opens
The ground-breaking ceremony took place at the end of June 2022 and by May 2023, the project was completed with the official opening of the new TechnoAlpin Swiss headquarters in Schattdorf (Uri Canton). Around 180 guests including Swiss ski resort customers, partners, local politicians and the press attended the event and were able to see the brand new, state-of-the-art premises for themselves.
With this new building, the innovative market leader intends to set yet another milestone in terms of sustainability. The new office and warehouse building covering some 3,000 square meters has been constructed in traditional Japanese Yakisugi style based on a sustainable, robust construction method using “charred” cedar wood. Energy-saving strategies such as an urban heating network, photovoltaics, e-car charging stations and timber construction also feature in the extension.
The highlight of the day was an international panel discussion on “The future of our ski resorts: sustainability as a recipe for success”. Berno Stoffel [Director of Seilbahnen Schweiz (Swiss Cable Cars) and member of the Swiss Tourist Board], Hannes Mayer (Head of Technology and Environmental Manager at Schmittenhöhebahn AG), Henrik Volpert [Member of the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen (Mountain Railways) Board and Vice-President of the Deutscher Seilbahnverband (German Cable Car Association)] and Florian Eisath (Managing Director of the Carezza Dolomites Ski Resort) chatted with moderator, Nina Havel for about an hour, discussing various topics such as the energy crisis, ecological slope management, alternative energy sources, low-emission mobility and numerous other strategies to promote economic and social sustainability in the respective ski resorts. Numerous productive inputs and concepts were eagerly absorbed and taken on board by interested onlookers.
TechnoAlpin Switzerland employees are delighted to be able to serve customers from the new location with immediate effect.
