New Shopping & Culinary Meeting Place In Andermatt Reuss: Successful Opening Of Furkagasse
The new Furkagasse retail and catering venue in Andermatt Reuss has officially opened. The opening event on Saturday afternoon attracted a large audience of locals and guests to Andermatt. Live music with Bastian Baker, culinary delights and entertainment on the Piazza Gottardo framed the official opening ceremony.
Samih Sawiris (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG), Naguib Sawiris (Chairman of Orascom Development), Raphael Krucker (CEO of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG) and Peter Baumann (Mayor of Andermatt) officially opened the new retail and restaurant zone on Saturday afternoon. Furkagasse has seven new retail outlets and three new bars/restaurants with a total of 10 brands. Live music and entertainment attracted a large audience.
“With the opening of Furkagasse a dream has come true,” enthused Samih Sawiris, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Andermatt Swiss Alps (ASA). ASA-CEO Raphael Krucker completed “The Furkagasse is a major milestone in the development of Andermatt Reuss towards becoming a Prime Alpine Destination. With Andreas Caminada's IGNIV, we can also supplement the high-quality gourmet offer." The mayor of the municipality, Peter Baumann, expressed his thanks for the further enhancement of Andermatt's attractiveness.
With Furkagasse, Andermatt is gaining a new place of encounter for locals and visitors alike. The retail and gastronomy zone is a meeting place where national and international companies, exclusive boutiques, first-class restaurants and cosy cafés come together. Andermatt Reuss now has a total of ten retail spaces and five bars/restaurants with a total of 15 brands on 5,000 square metres. The new brands include Dagsmejan, Kjus, Muntagnard, Qwstion, Andermatt Swiss Watches, Audi, Tasoni, Frauenschuh, Feinedinge and Grüezi Cafe. The IGNIV by Andreas Caminada restaurant and the Nooba restaurant enrich the culinary offering.
These new openings complement the already established restaurants such as Spun in the Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen, Biselli and La Bonne Cave as well as the shops Imholz Sport, Mammut, Bikewelt Gisler, Andermatters, Victorinox and Drogerie Andermatt. In the winter months, there is also a bar on the Piazza Gottardo with hot drinks and snacks. Furkagasse expands Andermatt's gastronomic and commercial offering and increases the attractiveness of the new part of the village.
