The downhill run is accompanied by the Zermatt Bergbahnen ski patrol and rescue service, ensuring safety along the way. It takes tremendous expertise and passion to prepare the runs in the Matterhorn Ski Paradise. On the trail of the world’s best skiers
The first Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening event at the end of October and beginning of November 2022 marks a historic event in the Alpine ski calendar. The first cross-border downhill race will mark the start of the season for the speed specialists. The race will take place on the “Gran Becca” run from the summer ski area in Zermatt, down to the finish in Lage Cime Bianchi in Italy. Enthusiasts keen to experience the steep drops and gliding passages under their own steam can head to the “Gran Becca” from the 2022/2023 winter season – without stopwatch pressure or TV cameras.
