Mt. Hood Meadows Promotes Tyler Barnes, Lisa Cordie & Geoff Marriner To Director Leadership Team
Mt. Hood Meadows has announced the promotion of three management team members to its leadership team effective this 2022/23 season.
Lisa Cordie, Director of Guest Services
Lisa Cordie has been promoted from Resort Services Manager to Director of Guest Services. In this role she will provide leadership to Guest Services, Retail, Rental and Daycare. Lisa started at Mt. Hood Meadows in the 1999/2000 season as the Daycare Supervisor. In her 23 season at Meadows she has received multiple promotions and contributed to success in many areas of the company such as Daycare, Meadows Learning Center and Guest Services. In addition to her many accomplishments helping team members and departments grow and become even more successful Lisa is also the only two time winner of the President’s award in our companies history, winning the award in both 2007 and 2015.
Tyler Barnes, Director of Meadows Learning Center
Tyler Barnes has been promoted from Meadows Learning Center Operations Manager to Director of Meadows Learning Center. In this role he will provide leadership to the Meadows Learning Center and Nordic Center. Tyler started at Meadows in the 1993/1994 season working both as a Ski Instructor and Bartender. Tyler was promoted to Bar Manager and worked two seasons in that role while teaching skiing part-time. In the late 90’s he started his own business doing a variety of work in architecture, web design, event promotions and writing mountain bike guide books while continuing to teach skiing part-time at Meadows. Tyler came back to Meadows full time in 2017 as the Training Manager for the Meadows Learning Center from which he was promoted to his current position.
He has worked for Deer Valley resort, Timberline Ski Area, Mt. Hood Summer Ski Camps, and as a contractor for the Professional Ski Instructors of America – Northwest (PSIA-NW). He was the Technical Team Assistant Coach (alumnus), is a current PSIA-NW Technical Team Member and Alpine Examiner. His volunteer work as a PSIA-NW Board Member and as a paid consultant with other Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) Regions as well as the National organization has had a positive impact on snow sports education across the country. Tyler is also the creator of SNOWPRO PORTAL, which is a platform for snowsports schools to communicate with their instructors.
Geoff Marriner, Director of Mountain Operations
Geoff Marriner has been promoted from Grooming Manager to Director of Mountain Operations. Geoff has spent several decades in the ski industry and was hired at MHM as Grooming Manager in 2018. Before joining us, Geoff spent three years as the Mountain Operations Manager at Jeongseon Alpine Centre, South Korea, including during the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Prior to that he was the Assistant Manager of Mountain Operations at Beaver Creek.
