For its 50th anniversary from April 16 to 18, 2024, Mountain Planet, the international trade show for mountain development and innovation, unveils its program.
Mountain Planet, the world's largest trade show dedicated to innovation and mountain development, will take place from April 16 to 18, 2024 in Grenoble's ALPEXPO event park. This 2024 edition will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this trade show, which has established itself over the years as a global crossroads, a place of business, exchange and forward planning for mountain professionals and the mountain industry. Each year, Mountain Planet welcomes all the global players in the mountain ecosystem (manufacturers, elected representatives, local authorities, accommodation providers, ski area operators, associations, farmers and mountain socio-professionals, etc.), representing a total of 23,000 professionals, including 2,900 international visitors from 71 countries.

Changes and evolutions in economic and sociological models in the mountains, environmental challenges, mobility, pastoralism, big data, communication ... for 50 years Mountain Planet has been an unmissable event where all the international mountain circles meet, mountains where you can discover innovations and the latest market trends, presented by over 900 exhibiting brands on 50,000 m2 of exhibition space.
INTERNATIONAL REPORT ON SNOW AND MOUNTAIN TOURISM
Opening the show on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10am, Swiss international expert Laurent Vanat will present his International Snow and Mountain Tourism Report 2024. Published annually in partnership with Mountain Planet, this essential report lists and analyzes data from over 2,000 ski resorts in 68 countries. Facts, figures, investments, visitor numbers, trends, snow cover... it scrutinizes and details the ski, snow and mountain industry and its evolution. It highlights the situation, trends and potential of the ski and mountain market.
THE CONFERENCE PROGRAM
Numerous conferences and round tables will be held daily, covering a wide range of topics. The first major conferences, led by international speakers, will focus on :

2/ Customer loyalty or the challenge of hyper-satisfaction
3/ The new superpowers of data
MOUNTAIN PLANET AWARDS
The "Mountain Planet Awards" are back, rewarding joint projects by exhibiting brands and ski area managers in resorts in France and abroad. Applications are now open, and can be obtained from the organization via the show website.
FOREIGN DELEGATIONS VISIT THE SHOW AND THE MOUNTAINS
They come from 5 continents: USA, India, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, China, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Africa, Poland.... Every year, some 30 foreign delegations with investment projects in the pipeline attend Mountain Planet. But it's also on skis that these delegations visit a number of French mountain resorts. These visits are organized in conjunction with Cluster Montagne, the association that federates the French mountain development industry. This year, the ski resorts of La Rosière and Les Arcs will welcome over 250 international decision-makers to explore the latest innovations being implemented in the mountains.
AN OLYMPIC CANDIDACY FOR FRANCE IN 2030
The candidacy of the French Alps supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions was chosen by the International Olympic Committee to enter into “targeted dialogue” with a view to organizing the Olympic and Paralympic Games winter of 2030. France is today the largest ski area in the world with 238 ski and mountain resorts which each year represent 120,000 jobs and welcome more than 10 million tourists (26% foreigners). The economic weight of French mountain tourism in winter represents 10 billion euros (€ billion) per year, or 15% of national tourism turnover. France also has one of the largest and best mountain development industries in the world with several groups, mid-sized companies and numerous companies recognized worldwide for their expertise in this field. A few months before the Paris Olympic Games and the announcement of the final decision in July 2024, Mountain Planet will undoubtedly mark a new stage for the French candidacy.
