Moving Carpet – The new generation Type N (stand: 771, Sunkid)
“28 years ago, we developed our Moving Carpet as a climbing aid for ski schools,” Emanuel Wohlfarter reminisces. “Since then, it has become a year-round transport solution for people, goods, boats, and tubes that is virtually unbeatable in terms of diversity of use.” In addition to the bike parks that are being built in many locations now, more and more leisure offerings that allow Sunkid to score with its broad product range are implemented as well. This may include entire summer experience worlds with playing stations, family rides in theme parks, tubing slopes, or special Sunkid conveyor belts for rafts in water parks or for kayaks in artificial whitewater channels
Project-related coordination of our system (capacity, output, equipment, custom design), various options to be combined (two belt surfaces, four belt widths, three gallery versions), easy maintenance and assembly, as well as our market leadership (+ 4,000 facilities), keep us the first point of contact for customers looking for person conveyor belts anywhere in the world.
With its new Type N conveyor belt generation – exhibited at stand 771 – Sunkid is setting the current standard in the area of modern person transport. Following the international premiere in 2022, this generation will celebrate its market launch in France and the USA in 2024. Type N combines best quality with optimal use of resources and greatest user friendliness. The integrated switchgear (i-CONTROL®) further adds a new usability concept while setting standards in terms of maintenance and operation of the system.
The core of the Type N is its new electrical i-CONTROL control unit, now serially used in all facilities. The operating system illustrates the current operating status in a well-structured manner, guiding the user simply through all functions. Key features include:
- Multi-touch-HMI (display) with all relevant information for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Four different password-protected user groups, each with a defined release of functions
- Remote access to the electrical control for the customer and manufacturer (for extended customer support)
- Regular reports by email regarding the most important operating data (such as utilisation, etc.) to different recipients (customer or manufacturer)
With the ceremonial handover of the 4,000th Moving Carpet to the Hochzillertal Kaltenbach ski resort (Austria) on February 6, 2024, Sunkid reached another important milestone in the company's successful history and underlined its global market leadership in outdoor conveyor belts
The Moving Carpet # 4,000 of the latest Type N is 142 meters long, completely covered with a gallery and transports up to 1,650 people per hour, with a motor power of 22 kW. (© Sunkid)
Wood’n’Fun – Sustainable adventure worlds made of wood(stand: 771, Sunkid)
Sunkid supports tourism and leisure destinations around the world with innovative solutions and sustainable products. The “Wood’n’Fun” product group represents active adventures and relaxed moments in nature alike – with playground equipment, seats, and themed paths and worlds of experience fully customised to the client’s wishes and made of Austrian larch wood. There are no limits to individual theming here.
Kitzbühel ("Streif") and Sölden ("Almzeit") in Austria or Peisey-Nancroix in France: In 2023, the Saalbach-Hinterglemm Ski Circus joined a long list of well-known customers of Wood'n'Fun wooden letters and large, individually designed play areas. The new adventure world on the Reiterkogel features play letters, which Sunkid already presented at Interalpin 2023, a slide tower, a motor skills route, a giant Archmides’ screw and panoramic rest areas.
At the Sunkid stand at Mountain Planet (771), a “Flipper” (pinball machine) with wooden balls invites visitors, young and old, to play together: Whose ball will reach the highest score or the furthest target? While the sale of wooden balls is a lucrative little extra business for some operators of this kind of playing equipment, the Sunkid balls can be taken home as souvenirs of Mountain Planet 2024.
Dry Slopes and Tubing – For year-round ”winter sports“ (stand: 771, Sunkid)
Dry Slopes for skiing will play an increasingly important role in the future, both in alpine and urban areas - especially on practice slopes and in children's areas at low altitudes. The Dry Slopes from Sunkid make winter sports possible 365 days a year.
Recently, a 1,500 square meter beginners' area was created on the Hohe-Wand-Wiese in Vienna (Austria), where young skiers can try out their first turns on durable mats – with the feeling of real snow. Other large-scale Dry Slope projects that have been completed, include a 10,000 m² area in Stockholm (Sweden) and a 5,000 m² area in Puchberg am Schneeberg (Austria).
Our innovative Tubing facilities are an ideal addition to the range of offers – for mountain resorts and ski schools as well as leisure parks, leisure destinations and indoor parks worldwide. These provide maximum fun with the greatest possible safety – on Dry Slopes or snow – while making optimum use of the local infrastructure.
Sunkid offers everything from a single source: In addition to providing the tubes, we also take care of the construction of Dry Slopes and provide the ideal climbing aid with the original Moving Carpet. This is demonstrated by project examples in La Vallée des Korrigans or Moliets-et-Maa and in particular the 130-metre-long Tubing slope, including 117-meter-long Moving Carpet, in Schnepfenried (all projects in France).
Overall plannings with Sunny Stuff, Sunline, lift systems …(stand: 771, Sunkid)
Panorama playgrounds, interactive sled runs, fun slopes – many customers of Sunkid are expanding their winter attraction offerings for families with children beyond the traditional skiing and children’s skiing areas as well. Sunkid is a reliable partner for these, from planning and visualisation to assembly, approval, and servicing.
The product line of the “Sunny Stuff” ski school aids turns learning into an experience. The complete offering spans everything from safety equipment and markings such as custom toucans and or entrance arches, to “Teach & Learn” products like snow plough aids, to obstacles for tomorrow’s freestyle athletes. Whether with “Snow Animals”, “Monsters”, the “Troll Family”, or designed to match the respective local mascot – Sunkid equipment can cater to any customer wish in terms of designing snow experience worlds, including slalom courses and interactive figures.
Making sure that not only the young snow athletes will get their share of fun, Sunline route designs and specifically developed resilient interaction elements (Sound High Five, Sunline Rainbow Bridge, etc.) offer fun and action for all guests. Mountain Coaster 2.0(stand: 128, Caratelli)
Sunkid toboggan runs are some of the best-selling installations in the world. Since 1996, around 70 systems have been installed in numerous countries. The trademark of the Mountain Coaster is its unique monorail system. This not only offers unparalleled ride dynamics, but is also particularly cost-efficient and easy to install and dismantle due to its sophisticated design.
2023 saw the world premiere of the Mountain Coaster 2.0 – developed for fun and action in all weathers and seasons. At Mountain Planet 2024, interested visitors will have the opportunity to check out the latest version of our summer toboggan run at the stand of our sales partner Caratelli
The Mountain Coaster 2.0 features updates in the areas of comfort, safety and efficiency for both passengers and operators. The completely revised toboggan design increases seating and riding comfort. It also enables a wide variety of customer theming options. The newly integrated assistance and braking system increases safety, by actively controlling speed and distance between the toboggans. In any weather condition and season.
More new features are the two tamper proof seat belts with belt buckle locking system, a foldable backrest with water-repellent seat cushions, LED front and rear lights and generous space for one adult and one child.
Family Rides: Tower, Nautic Jet …(stand: 771, Sunkid)
The Family Rides of Sunkid Heege have been delighting children and families around the world for more than 40 years. The hallmarks of our products are their ease of use, small footprint, high level of interactivity, and greatest fun.
With around 150 facilities worldwide, the Tower offers 360° panoramic views for the whole family in many places. Passengers pull themselves up to a height of almost nine meters, easily (motor-assisted!) with the help of a rope. Constantly, the Tower rotates slowly around its own axis.
With acceleration of up to 40 km/h and the unique feeling of flying freely – with a splashy landing: The Nautic Jet thrills young and old alike. The Family Ride's robust and sophisticated technology allows it to be used not only in leisure parks and on (swimming) lakes, but also in locations with "extreme weather", such as adventure worlds or (snowmaking) ponds in the mountains. Best examples: Chamonix (France) or Mautern (Austria) and Jahorina (Bosnia and Herzegovina), where several Family Rdes have been offering interactive outdoor amusement park fun for years.
