Mountain Heaven Launches ‘Threesome Ski Adventure’ To Georgia, Iran And Uzbekistan
Mountain Heaven has launched a new ‘Threesome Ski Adventure’ trip to destinations not on the usual list for skiers and snowboarders. They can be booked as separate trips, or combined as one, spanning almost the entire month of February.
- Ski Georgia, Uzbekistan and Iran in one combined trip or choose to join one or two legs
- Georgia now off the red list, Uzbekistan and Iran were previously ‘Amber’, but all countries now ‘open’
- Mountain Heaven is an established tour operator that has previously run ski trips to Iran and Georgia, but
- Uzbekistan is new for 2022 and combining all three together is a new concept (Threesome Ski Adventure)
- Trip highlights include new ski resort in Uzbekistan, Amirsoy, skiing in the UNESCO World Heritage valley of Svaneti, Georgia and exploring the city of Tehran after skiing in Iran’s beautiful mountains
Mountain Heaven have offered excellent value catered and self-catered chalet holidays in the French and Swiss Alps since 2003. They are an independent family owned company with extensive knowledge, experience and a genuine passion for the mountains and have grown steadily over the years from their initial roots in La Plagne to branch out and feature seven of the best resorts in France and Switzerland that offer fantastic skiing and are high enough to guarantee great snow conditions.
For skiing enthusiasts that have missed out on a season and a half of adventure, this trip promises to deliver mountain experiences combined with the culture of Central Asia and the up-and-coming ski destination of Georgia, located on the fringes of Europe.
- Georgia: The trip will combine skiing in three of the country’s regions, along with visits to key cultural attractions and the country’s flourishing capital city, Tbilisi. The nine day itinerary includes visits to the ski areas of Gudauri – the most established ski area in the Georgian Greater Caucuses with recently updated infrastructure, Bakuriani – located in the Lesser Caucuses and former Soviet Winter Olympic training base and Mestia – the newest addition to the Georgian ski scene, with the highest peaks located in the remote UNESCO World Heritage valley of Upper Svaneti.
- Uzbekistan: The first Ski Explore group trip to Uzbekistan will commence on the 7th February 2022, (directly after the trip to Georgia and before the trip to Iran). The trip to Uzbekistan will explore the slopes of the main new ski resort called Amirsoy and also the smaller resort of Beldersoy. The trip will also explore the fantastic capital city Tashkent and then the ancient capital city Bukhara that has over 300 mosques and finally the desert city of Samarkand.
- Iran: The Islamic Republic of Iran offers fantastic skiing and a beautiful backdrop whilst doing so. It has a long season and dependable snow conditions, but to date only 1% of the people skiing in Iran are from outside the country. Mountain Heaven are proud to be the first British ski company to provide skiing holidays to Iran.
The trip is open for recreational skiers that can confidently handle blue and red runs, but don’t need to be experts. There will be opportunities for some off-piste skiing for those with more experience, conditions permitting.
Managing Director of Mountain Heaven, Nick Williams, said: “Our ski trips to Iran have always been a huge success and we wanted to expand our offer to include other countries off the beaten track. Following a ski trip to Georgia in 2020, I immediately realised that this great destination was an absolute must to add to the ski bucket list. With a new ski resort opening in Uzbekistan, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to add another exotic country to the list. The traditional Uzbek culture and the hospitality of the Georgians are just two major plus points and although this is a ski adventure, we’ll be well fed and watered along the way and take in some of the cultural highlights in every country we visit”.
