Mount Sunapee To Open November 29 For The 2018-19 Winter Season
A combination of superlative snowmaking capability, favorable temperatures and above-average, early-season natural snowfall will allow Mount Sunapee to open for the 2018/2019 skiing and snowboarding season on Thursday, November 29.
Mount Sunapee is expecting to open with two top-to-bottom runs comprised of six trails and 36 acres of terrain serviced by one lift, the Sunapee Express. Hours of operation at Mount Sunapee are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. midweek and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends.
“Snowmaking at Mount Sunapee has been going for 80 hours straight,” said General Manager Bruce Schmidt. “In addition, we have received almost a foot of natural snow in the past two weeks, so we are expecting a great start to the season.”
Beginning on Friday, Nov. 29, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the following at Mount Sunapee, until additional lifts, trails, services and amenities open in the days and weeks to come:
- The Sunapee Lodge.
- Dining at Goosefeathers
- Shopping at Mountain Outfitters
- Sunapee Lodge ticket windows and Guest Services will be open
- Opening Day On-Snow First-Chair celebration at the Sunapee Express.
All guests are reminded that they must observe all posted signs, closures and slow zones, especially during the early-season. Closed trails may contain hazards due to early snow coverage. In addition, the resort’s early-season uphill policies are in effect.
