MND Group Opens A New Production Site
As a major player in cable transportation, the French industrial group MND opened in Savoie, France, its new production and assembly site for ORIZON, its new range of detachable cable transport solutions (gondolas and chairlifts), in the presence of more than 500 guests, dedicated to transport operators, in mountain, urban and tourist environments. With a total investment of 30 million euros, including 10 million for the production site and 20 million for the development and industrialization of the ORIZON range, MND will create around a hundred jobs in the next 24 months. The first recruitments have already started.
This new production space extends the group's overall site, which now reaches 5 hectares (12.3 acres) andcomplements the group's headquarters based in Sainte-Hélène-du-Lac (Savoie) and its other production units dedicated to cable mobility, snowmaking systems, mountain safety and thrilling leisure activities. This new production hall is a continuation of the Made in France strategy implemented by the group for several years now, enabling it to be today the only French cable transport manufacturer to produce all of its ranges of gondolas and chairlifts in France. This site, which is dedicated to the production of sustainable and carbon-free transport solutions, will very soon becovered with 21,500 sq ft of photovoltaic panels which will produce up to 650,000 kWh per year in addition to the 130,000 kWh which are already produced by existing installations. This investment aims to accelerate the decarbonization of the group's industrial activities.
This production site is unique in France, since just a few meters from the buildings, outside, MND built the first ORIZON lift, equipped with cabins and chairs. Fully functional, it allows its customers to discover, and evaluate its solutions on site in real operation.
Xavier Gallot-Lavallée, CEO of MND said "We are very pleased to unveil this new production site and present our new, fully operational range of ORIZON gondolas and chairlifts. This is an important step for our group which will enable us to consolidate our position as a global player and win new market shares in a rapidly developing sector. This investment is a strong marker of our attachment to the reindustrialization of the territory in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region as well as to Made in France."
