MCP's Power Pass Now Includes La Parva – Plus New Year-Round Perks

Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) announced today that its flagship season pass product will deliver brand-new benefits that will provide access to nearly 9,000 acres of skiing and - for the first time in company history - golf. Together, these benefits will deliver 12 months of outdoor recreation for one of the best values in the ski and recreation industry.

The 2024/2025 Power Pass and Power Pass Select (also called the 12 Day Power Pass) have been automatically upgraded to include 7 interconnected days during the 2024 season at Valle Nevado and La Parva ski resorts, located in the Chilean Andes near Santiago, the country’s capital and largest city. Power Pass and Power Pass Select guests staying at Valle Nevado are also eligible for up to 15% off the lowest available hotel package rate.

In addition, Power Kids - the only pass of its kind in the U.S. that offers FREE, no-strings-attached skiing and mountain biking for kids ages 12 and younger - and the company’s Super Senior pass, which offers free skiing for adults ages 75 and older, will also enjoy unlimited access to Valle Nevado and La Parva for the 2024 season.

News of the expanded pass offerings follows this month’s announcement that MCP entered into an agreement to purchase La Parva, effectively creating the largest lift-served resort in the southern hemisphere and one of the largest in the Americas. MCP became the majority owner of Chilean resort Valle Nevado, the largest ski resort in the Americas, last spring, which means MCP now operates two of the three ski areas of the renowned Tres Valles, which represents the largest amount of lift-served skiable terrain in the southern hemisphere.

Valle Nevado and La Parva share borders and guests can ski both resorts with an easy-to-access interconnect system of lifts and trails. Beginning opening day at both Chilean resorts (currently scheduled for June 21 although resort officials at both ski areas say they will open earlier if conditions permit), eligible season pass guests visiting the Tres Valles area will be able to enjoy a combined total of nearly 5,000 skiable acres, 30 lifts, 84 named trails and a maximum elevation of 12,041 feet with a total vertical of 3,281 feet from the base of La Parva to the summit of Valle Nevado. An additional 200,000 acres of heli-skiing is available with an accompanying purchase, giving guests access to the world’s longest continental mountain range and the highest mountain chain outside of the Himalayas.

“Year after year, the Power Pass has expanded both its reach and its value by not only adding more mountains to ski but also more days to the skiing calendar,” said Stacey Glaser, MCP head of strategic planning. “Between the U.S. and Chile, Power Pass guests can access over 550 named trails and 85 lifts across 9,000 skiable acres; plus they can often ski every month out of the year, too.”

Yesterday, Arizona Snowbowl announced it extended the ski season again, this time announcing it will be open for skiing, snowboarding and scenic gondola rides on Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 24 - Monday, May 27) and it will re-open again on Saturday, June 1, for the latest scheduled closing date Snowbowl and the state of Arizona has ever seen. Glaser added that “eligible 2024/2025 passholders can access Snowbowl’s historic season through the popular Buy Now, Ski Now benefit.”

In addition to expanded ski privileges, the Power Pass is debuting a new benefit never offered before: golf. Effective immediately, 2024/2025 Power Pass and Power Pass Select guests are eligible for one free round of golf at Birdie Ranch or Bison Golf Club, both of Show Low, Arizona. The free round is available Mondays through Thursdays (blackout dates: 5/27/24, 7/4/24, 9/2/24) through April 30, 2025. In addition, passholders can receive 25% off six additional rounds (offer valid daily, no blackout dates).

“When you look at the people that make up MCP - including both our teams and our guests - there’s a shared connection to and passion for skiing, but that’s not all: we mountain bike, we fish and float on rivers, we run, we golf and - above all else - we recreate in these mountains we love,” Glaser added. “We’re thrilled to give passholders another opportunity to use their pass year-round, this time on the links in Arizona’s White Mountains.”

Adult prices on the Power Pass and Power Pass Select are $849 and $599, respectively, with young adult age categories starting at $549 and $299. Guests can secure the lowest available price through June 21 and also receive these additional benefits:

  • Power Pass offers unlimited skiing at 9 U.S. ski areas for the 2024/2025 season
  • Power Pass Select offers unlimited skiing at 6 U.S. ski areas and 12 restricted days between Purgatory Resort, Arizona Snowbowl and Lee Canyon for the 2024/2025 season
