Mathieu Leduc Retires From Alpine Canada

Mathieu Leduc (Comox B.C.), member of the Canadian ski cross Team is announcing his official retirement from Alpine Canada.

A former alpine skier, Mathieu Leduc has competed in World Cup ski cross races since 2012-13. That same winter, he was the top male Canadian finisher at the 2012 National Championships, placing fourth. The following season in 2014, he gained his first top-ten finish. In the 2015-16 season, Leduc claimed top-ten results on the World Cup circuit, including a seventh-place finish in Val Thorens, FRA and an eighth-place finish in Idre Fjall, SWE. Last season, after coming back from a major knee injury, Leduc made the big finals for the first time in his career and finished with a personal-best fourth-place finish.

Matt has been battling injury for the last couple of years and has decided to move on from competition.

“I would like to thank the Mount Washington Ski Club for their support throughout my career. Particularly Head Coach John Trimmer. And, I also want to thank my family that has always been supportive. It was an absolute honour to represent my country abroad. I wish the team all the best going forward.”
