Mary Rand Puts A New Spin On Vans’ Snow Boot
Vans connects with global snow team rider Mary Rand to create a personalized version of the Ferra Pro snowboard boot for the 2018/19 winter season. Developed to meet the demands of Mary’s progressive and ever-evolving riding style, the Ferra Pro is a multifaceted, all-mountain women’s boot engineered from the inside out to provide a customizable fit with premium support and unlimited adaptability.
Mary Rand’s recent transition from East Coast park and street riding to a Pacific Northwest powder program requires a cross-functional boot that can acclimate to it all. With the reliability of traditional laces, combined with the quick response and critical heel hold of Vans’ Hybrid Boa closure system and PowerCuff strap options, the Ferra Pro equips riders with the support needed to tackle all types of terrain. Vans’ pinnacle boot also offers heat-moldable V2 UltraCush liners with removable asymmetrical X-cages and V2 UltraCush footbeds to deliver the utmost personalized fit. Updated for this season, the Ferra Pro features Vans’ Heat Retention 360° construction that wraps around the toe box and between the outsole and the liner to ensure all-day warmth and comfort.
“The Ferra Pro is a super versatile boot,” exclaims Mary. “I love the lace and Boa combo, the hybrid system gets the job done for all types of riding.”
Growing up riding Yawgoo Valley in Rhode Island, Mary’s influential and innovative urban riding is what put her on the map. In the more recent years, she’s been following the footsteps of fellow team rider Hana Beaman, dominating the backcountry in the vast mountain ranges of Washington and West Canada. Pushing herself further out of her comfort zone every day, Mary Rand is on the fast-track to being one of the women’s backcountry rippers.
Inspired by her favorite homegrown sunflowers, Mary Rand’s floral colorway of the Ferra Pro is also featured on a Slip-On Mid MTE and a Slip-er, all available online and in-stores now.
