March 2022: Freestylers To Celebrate The Season Finals With Freeski & Snowboard World Cup In Corvatsch Park

Once, the people who travelled to Corvatsch were mostly international film crews looking to get some amazing shots of freeriding in the backcountry. These days, the mountain of the great raven (“Corvatsch” is Romansh for “raven”) is also known as a place at the pinnacle of freestyle culture. In the last 10 years, Corvatsch Park has become one of the largest snow parks in the Alps and a venue for national and international competitions.

From 24 to 27 March 2022, the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup Corvatsch will take place in Silvaplana. It is the 9th edition of a Slopestyle World Cup for freeskiers in Corvatsch Park where world-class snowboarders have been competing since 2021.

  • Status: FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup
  • Top-Level Contest: Freeski & Snowboard Final World Cup Slopestyle Men & Ladies
  • Prize-money: CHF 50’000 Freeski / CHF 50'000 Snowboard (CHF 25’000 per gender)

For the second time, snowboarders and freeskiers will celebrate the finals of the FIS World Cup season together in Silvaplana, in 2022. The run for the event titles and a total of CHF 100,000 in prize money is accompanied by the awarding of the large and small crystal globes.

  • Kobi Würsch is in 2022 once again the course-builder. Kobi and his team bring in all their know-how to set up once again a spectacular course.
  • Thanks to the chairlift beside the course and a priority line for the World Cup event, athletes will be able to do endless laps and be quickly on the top of the course.
  • The park setup for the 2022 edition of the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup will be published in February 2022.

For the time being, Corvatsch champions like Andri Ragettli (SUI), Sarah Höfflin (SUI), Tess Ledeux (FRA), Colby Stevenson (USA), Marcus Kleveland (NOR) and Reira Iwabuchi (JPN) are in Olympic action. A powerful line-up of freestyle athletes is guaranteed for the end of March 2022 – the Corvatsch Park, high above Silvaplana in the Engadin, is one of the most popular courses on the FIS World Cup Tour. As a result, teams are not ignoring the fact that the FIS Freestyle World Championships will be held here in 2025,
