Marcel Hirscher Becomes A Partner Of Wintersteiger
Eight-time overall World Cup winner Hirscher continues with his Van Deer brand and will partner with Wintersteiger.
"After 15 years as an athlete in the ski circus, I decided, together with my manager Dominic Tritscher, to found our own brand that identifies with the topic of winter sports. In the 2021/22 season, we produced a first series of different ski models and sold them successfully through sports retailers," says Hirscher.
Right from the start, the ski finish was handled with the new Jupiter service machine at the long-standing premium partner Bründl Sports in the new flagship store in Kaprun. Based on his recommendation and the highly motivated Wintersteiger sales and development team, initial contact was made with the eight-time overall World Cup winner. Marcel Hirscher and none other than Ferdinand Hirscher, father of the two-time Olympic champion, tested a large number of service variants in autumn 2021 in order to make a final selection in the secret tests. Marcel Hirscher himself was 100% convinced of the result right from the start.
After the ski tests, both sides were sure that a partnership is the best option to achieve the ambitious goals of the Van Deer brand. The task for Wintersteiger was clear: to plan and implement a complete service concept for the newly built location in Annaberg. Wintersteiger Racing expert Emanuel Mayringer developed the overall concept for the ski service and boot fitting workshop together with specialists. “Wintersteiger is the perfect tuning partner for Van Deer. We share the same values and aspirations. I'm looking forward to working together and to exciting years of joint development," says Hirscher.
The Jupitermachine being built for Marcel Hirscher will go into production shortly and will be used at the Annaberg site from April 2022.
