Mammoth Extends WINTER Season To August 6th

Mammoth Mountain has received a record-breaking amount of snow over the 22/23 season, totalling 18.1 metres, and as a result, has been able to continue all winter operations through the summer months until 6th August.     

As California’s highest chairlift serviced peak, Mammoth Mountain is well known for its extended spring seasons and has long been one of few resorts that can operate so far into the summer months - an occurrence which happens almost every year. Whilst common for visitors to ski and ride in the sunny weather often, the season extending to early August is unusual even for Mammoth Mountain, a rare occasion which has only happened twice in its 69-year history in 1995 and 2017. 

Throughout the remainder of July and into August, visitors to Mammoth Lakes can continue to take advantage of the resort's winter activities such as sledding and tubing, whilst also enjoying the incredible experiences that summer in this mountain destination has to offer. From hiking, mountain biking and camping to fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding, there is an endless list of outdoor activities for travellers to enjoy.
