Maloja Wins ISPO 2018 Award In Snowsports Segment for Its Cross Country Race Suit

Known for its innovative apparel technologies and designs, Maloja leaves ISPO 2018 as an award-winning brand. The Maloja Cross Country Race Suit wins the ISPO 2018 Award in the Snowsports segment’s Outer Layer XC category. The cross country race suit is a modern, lightweight racing suit with bonded seams, ultrasonically welded seams and laser-cut inserts.

“We are thrilled to be acknowledged for our Nordic race wear,” said Landon Stirling, President for Maloja North America. “Our product design team pays attention to every detail to ensure fit, quality and performance are central to every product. When developing the cross country suit, our designers were informed by our mountaineering race suit and pushbikers road cycling collection that set benchmarks that inspired us to develop the cross country suit.”

Combined with the knowledge of performance materials and fit, Maloja designers worked together with World Cup athlete Lucas Bögl to push the technical limits. The result is a suit that sets new standards for future development of Nordic race wear. Throughout the construction process, special care was taken to ensure garment sections were completely void of cut lines or raised surfaces ensuring a completely seamless fit. A special elastic mesh material is used through the center of the back and the underarm area to improve breathability and moisture transport, while increasing mobility. The upper outer thigh area is also reinforced with anti-abrasion panels that act to protect against ski pole movement. For added protection, an extra layer of Lycra was added to the knee to guard against the wind and cold.
