Major Investment In Lifts For 3 Valleys

The 3 Valleys' ski areas have invested heavily in new infrastructure for the coming season:

Courchevel

La Saulire cable car reopens

  • New panoramic design and more comfortable cabins
  • Capacity = 130 people 
  • Opens December 6, 2024 
  • €10M investment
  • 11m per sec = 1,500 skiers per hour

New ski area updates in Courchevel 

Slopes : 

  • Family Park (Courchevel 1850) – new border cross run
  • Indian trail (Courchevel Moriond) – new totem poles
  • New observation deck in the Vizelle area where the Suisse and Marmottes lifts meet
  • New « Nid » at the top of Signal (cocooning shelter for skiers to relax)

Meribel

Roc de Fer summit redevelopment 

  • Beautiful summit at 2,294m – the redesign enhances the area for families and groups
  • Picnic and chillout area with picnic tables, hammocks and cosy heart-shaped mini cabins
  • 40m2 terrace with viewpoint indicator
  • Photobooth area with Meribel’s logo

Roc de Fer tunnel artwork

  • Franck Bleriot - a well-known French street artist commissioned to paint the entrance and interior of the tunnel
  • An immersive experience for skiers
  • Design links to Meribel's racing past: 1992 Olympics, 2016 and 2022 World Cups and 2023 World Championships

  • La Chaudanne snow front redeveloped – a new beginners area and (free) tobogganing zone 
  • New digital board at Pas du Lac – better information for skiers
  • New photo area at the top of Mont Vallon at 2,952m
  • Lounge de la Chaudanne – new cosy interior, free WiFi and phone charging station and new drink and snack machines

Saint Martin De Bellville

Observation and picnic area

  • At the top of the Saint Martin Express chairlift
  • 265m2 area – perfect for picnics or just chilling out
  • Breathtaking views over the Belleville Valley

Les Menuires

Children’s ski areas updated

  • Preyerand magic carpet replaced – area also reorganised to make learning easier
  • Pelvoux magic carpet in La Croisette now covered with tunnel - leads to a sledging hill 

Shopping 'mini' mall - being renovated for its 60th anniversary 

  • €3m investment from the municipality to redesign and refresh Galerie de la Croisette – in the heart of the resort 
  • 70 shops - serves 555 appartements (2,500 beds) 

Val Thorens

Les 2 Lacs chairlift updated with a gondola

  • €16M investment
  • 61 cabins, each gondola has 10 seats
  • It's quick : 7m per sec = 3,500 skiers per hour
  • Opens November 23, 2024
  • Gondola will land between La Bee zipline – the end of la Moutière chairlift
  • The new Les 2 Lacs will give ski-in access to Grand Fond
  • Easier for beginners - departure gate designed for kids
