With many skiers desperate to plan their trips for 2021/22 and budgets potentially higher than normal due to a winter of no skiing for Brits, Canada is being earmarked as a top destination for the coming winter.
Mabey Ski specialises in winter experiences beyond the norm – think yacht-based heli-skiing, volcano ski touring, CAT skiing by the ocean, and backcountry clinics for skiers and snowboarders looking to escape the crowds for the first time.
Founded by Nickie Mabey, whose family have been ski pioneers for over a century, skiing is more than just a hobby. It’s a lifestyle that has led her to ski peaks less tracked, explore remote regions, and create unforgettable ski adventures not found anywhere else.

Whistler and the Wilderness
Get off the beaten track and experience the very best of BC's abundant wilderness on this 9-day adventure. Work on your steep and tree skiing technique in Whistler, before exploring remote backcountry trails and a rustic cabin by snowmobile. Fly up to the rugged mountains of Northern BC where you’ll spend four days heli-skiing some of the deepest, driest snow from this off-the-grid heli-ski village. Designed for advanced to expert skiers looking for something a little more adventure. Guests should have experience skiing in powder snow, although no ski touring or backcountry knowledge is required.

As an add-on to a Whistler ski trip this three-day backcountry ski survival adventure is ideal for those looking to take their ski touring to the next level, or as preparation for a classic ski tour such as the Spearhead Traverse. Learn a full range of techniques for travelling efficiently through alpine terrain, such as route planning, avalanche avoidance, digging snow caves, constructing emergency shelters, and basic wilderness first aid and rescue. Spend your evenings getting a taste of alpine hut life as you discuss the day's learnings, cook backcountry meals, and acquire tips and tricks from your guide on how to stay warm at night and stop your boots from freezing.
