Les Carroz Ready For Winter
The village resort of Les Carroz is the shortest route to typical mountain holidays, to take in the scenery on the ski slopes, along the hiking trails or via a host of activities. Just 15 minutes from the motorway exit, 50 minutes from Geneva airport, 2 hours from Lyon and 5 hours from Paris... For a day, a weekend or a week, coming to Les Carroz to enjoy the great outdoors and great skiing is easy!
In Les Carroz, a world of contrasts awaits you, with legendary locations, acres of forest to enjoy in champagne powder and breathtaking views of the Aravis Mountains and the Arve Valley from historic pistes such as Les Timalets or Chamois, or even as far as the Jura, Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc from the Tête des Saix, the highest point of the slopes at an elevation of 2120m.
Skiing to discover new trails at will and never having to repeat a descent such are the possibilities offered by the 5 Grand Massif resorts: Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer- à-Cheval.
Every year, the Kédeuze gondola lift carries practically all of our holidaymakers, with a combined total of around 850,000 people. And this year, it’s its birthday! In December 2024, it will have completed twenty years of loyal service. The perfect opportunity to give it a “makeover” by way of a present. In practical terms, the 66 cabins will be leaving the resort on a 151-kilometre journey to the SIGMA factory (manufacturer of cabins for POMA cable transport). Aside from the aesthetic aspect, this large-scale operation meets a number of challenges.
Twenty years on... Back then, this model, called DIAMOND, was a new development by POMA, launching its aluminium cabin (previously made of fibreglass). Its construction in Les Carroz represented a first in France!
On an articulated lorry, the cabins were delivered into the expert hands of around twenty technicians. Once there, the process involves the complete dismantling of the cabin, leaving only its basic framework. Renovating and painting the uprights, changing the windows, new bench seats, adding vents, branding with the new logo... Numerous stages ensue during the renovation, representing around fifty-five hours of work, so that each cabin is reborn looking even better for this second life...
Creating something new from something old, even the ski area is doing it! Renovate, upcycle, reuse... It’s already the trend in many areas (decoration, textiles, etc.). But who would have thought it possible to take up this challenge for a ski lift? This eco-responsible choice helps control the disadvantages of replacing new for old (such as waste) and to optimise expenditure. In this case, the investment represents 20% of the cost of buying new. And that’s not the most astonishing part of it... This significant saving in no way alters the end result. One thing is certain: this winter, holidaymakers will be blown away when they next board the gondola!

The Les Carroz ski area offers a beginners’ pass for those who want to get to grips with their first turns and first descents.
Includes: 2 return trips in Les Carroz’s gondola, access to the Crêtes draglift and magic carpet, as well as the Plein Soleil draglift and chairlift.
To celebrate 20 years of Les Carroz's principle lift, the Kedeuze gondola is getting a full renovation, re-opening for Winter 2024/25.
10 years of the Oasis Cool Zone - the fun area for families and freestylers alike turns 10. There will be festivities in the always popular area throughout the season.
The favourite spot for families and riders is celebrating its 10th birthday! Created in 2015, the Oasis Cool Zone has remained the place to be throughout all these winters in Les Carroz’s ski area, where skiers can enjoy a world of 100% pure winter sports and an exotic interlude. Here, on the blue level boardercross, filmed over its entire length, the youngest are attempting their first exploits, whilst the experts are flying onto the big airbag and in the Snowpark.
To celebrate this birthday in style, the Cool Zone will be completely decorated with a special 10th birthday logo and lots of personalised gifts will be handed out to families who come to enjoy a well-deserved break under the palm trees.
Throughout the season, the festivities will be topped off with competitions, DJ sets, as well as festive events on 9th, 16th and 23rd of March 2025.
Throughout the winter, holidaymakers are invited to discover or (re)discover the Oasis Cool Zone in a festive atmosphere!
A highlight for any visitor to Les Carroz is the Alpine Coaster. After skiing, or for an alternative day time activity, thrill seekers are welcomed with a 600 metre descent through the heart of the forest. From 4 years old.
For the second year running, the Electro Snow music event returns to the top of the pistes in Les Carroz on 29 March 2025.
