Les 2 Alpes To Remain Open For Snowpros Until July 7th
The 2 Alpes ski area remained open after the end of winter on April 28. Since April 29 and until July 7 (date of closure of the high altitude area due to work carried out for the future 3S to replace the Jandri Express). Snow conditions are excellent following winter weather which continued into spring with regular snowfall above 2600m.
Since the 70s, Les 2 Alpes has welcomed ski and snowboard professionals. With the organization of the Ski and Snowboard Worlds, Les 2 Alpes developed its skills and know-how, particularly in the creation of a snowpark, the very first, in the summer of 1993. It is today a French reference and European. The resort therefore does everything it can to ensure that athletes and sports enthusiasts can train in the best conditions. The slope technicians, true architects of the snow, work hard and create appropriate spaces for everyone's training. Between 3600 m and 3200 m, alpine skiers progress on giant, slalom or technical slopes.
On the snowpark side, there are different modules, worked on from February, such as Big Air, rails or the Cross Park des 2 Alpes. There are many great ones champions to come and enjoy the site including the locals: Léa Casta, Aïdan Chollet and Maja-Li Iafrate Danielsson, Snowboard Cross World Cup athletes.
Why professional skiing in the spring? As part of a new strategy, a new ski season is being implemented from the end of winter until the beginning of July. This new season mainly concerns all ski and snowboard professionals. There are the World Cup teams, the European Cup teams, the ski clubs and all the other teams and athletes on the planet.
Les 2 Alpes is one of the rare spots to offer a training space at a time when all French ski resorts are closed. The resort adapts to offer a great experience and a quality product. This new season is conducive to quality training due to excellent snow conditions on the glacier. These beautiful snow conditions are reinforced by record snow depths above 2600 m. Faced with global warming and in a desire to preserve the snow and quality in the high altitude area, the SATA 2 Alpes ski area company has chosen to shift the seasons and create a new season dedicated especially to professionals but also to the general public.
The athletes train between 3600m and 2800m altitude all morning. Then, they have a natural playground and an exceptional setting to refine their physical training.
The French men's ski team will therefore also be present next week. A signing session with the athletes is planned for Thursday June 27 at 5:30 p.m., at the Le Sherpa hotel restaurant. It will be a great opportunity to meet Victor MJ, M. Faivre, C. Noël, Nils Allègre, C. Sarrazin, A. Théaux, N. Alphand.
On the program this week, around sixty mountain bikers are coming to train to obtain their state mountain bike diploma. As with the state ski certificate, there are several steps to obtaining this right to teach. Numerous downhill mountain bike training courses take place naturally in Les 2 Alpes, a land of mountain biking.
This week until Friday June 21, it's time to work on the DH test. Several training centers including the IFV (Bicycle Training Institute/On-site representative: Benjamin Vibert from the Bike Infinity mountain bike school) are present in Les 2 Alpes to support these future state-certified instructors. The DH exam will take place this Friday, June 21 on the Super Venosc track, privatized for the occasion. These future professionals then finalize their work-study program throughout the summer before the final exam in September.
