LEITNER To Set The Latest Technology And Design Standards At Interalpin

At this year's Interalpin – the world's leading trade fair for alpine technologies – the ropeway manufacturer LEITNER is once again presenting itself as an innovation leader in technology and design. The research and development investments that have been steadily intensified over the years will ensure a series of groundbreaking products for the future of sustainable mobility in 2025. This will be evident at Interalpin, among other things, through the presentation of a new standard for monocable gondola lifts. In addition to this launch event, visitors can look forward to numerous other LEITNER news at the completely redesigned exhibition stand in Innsbruck.

"We are very much looking forward to presenting the results of our intensive, group-wide innovation and development work of the past 18 months to our customers, the trade audience, and all interested parties at Interalpin 2025. We are pleased to introduce an optimized monocable gondola product that will set new standards in terms of noise reduction, maintenance, occupational safety, and efficiency for the entire ropeway industry." With these words, Martin Leitner, CEO of LEITNER AG, underscores the company's high ambition to further consolidate its role as the world's leading manufacturer of ropeway systems.

The launch event will take place on Wednesday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at the LEITNER booth D06 in Hall D.

The second key focus at this year's Interalpin will be the topic of urban ropeway solutions in the context of global mobility challenges. As part of the "Inspiration Days," organized by "Messe Innsbruck," LEITNER, as a partner in this format, will demonstrate its expertise in the field of urban ropeways, using the cable car project in Trieste as an example, and present its competencies in the implementation of other urban facilities around the globe. In keeping with this, LEITNER will also be presenting its unique hybrid solution, ConnX, for the first time at Interalpin. The system, developed and patented by LEITNER, is based on an automatically detachable gondola lift, in which the cabin is transferred to a ground-based vehicle in the station, which then continues on its own track on wheels. This allows the gondola lift to overcome potential topographical or structural obstacles, while also offering an attractive "dual solution" for urban areas where a continuous ropeway variant cannot be implemented for a variety of reasons. At Interalpin, the latest generation of the vehicle with a premium Diamond EVO cabin with urban features will be available for the first time to experience up close and even walk through.

LeitPilot: Autonomous cable car operation for LEITNER gondolas

At Interalpin, LEITNER will also be presenting its pioneering LeitPilot technology. This system, which can be integrated into new and existing systems, is based on real-time monitoring of the station's entry and exit areas, thus creating a key prerequisite for autonomous station operation. This is made possible by the use of state-of-the-art safety technology, such as advanced LIDAR sensors for monitoring the vehicle pit, which serves as a smart basis for unmanned operation.

3S Symphony cabin as a design highlight and 2S technology as the “best of” from both worlds

Another real eye-catcher at the LEITNER booth will be the large 3S Symphony cabin, designed by Pininfarina. This was also a central element of one of LEITNER's most spectacular projects in recent history: the "Alpine Crossing" on the Swiss Matterhorn. Since summer 2023, the 3S "Matterhorn Glacier Ride II" has connected the Klein Matterhorn mountain station at an altitude of 3,883 meters with the Testa Grigia valley station (3,458 meters) in Italy, thus enabling the highest border crossing in the Alps together with the "Matterhorn Glacier Ride I." Another highlight at the LEITNER booth will be the presentation of the in-house developed 2S system, which combines the key strengths of single-cable and tri-cable technology. In Innsbruck, LEITNER will present the system together with the Symphony 10 cabin, featuring a Pininfarina design and a 2S carriage.

Maximum functionality, service quality and a trade fair appearance in a new design

At the newly designed trade fair booth, LEITNER is also focusing on the diverse application possibilities of its systems for year-round operation, as well as the maintenance and service advantages for optimal support of ongoing operations. Among other things, the LEITNER Bike Transport system will be presented here, which will be demonstrated at Interalpin using a 6-seater chairlift as an example. Designed for gondola lifts and chairlifts, this solution impresses with its simple installation and the safe transport of bicycles without any loss of capacity. LEITNER will also dedicate a separate area at the booth to customer service and the services of the competence center in Leini (Turin), using an example of a serviced and a non-serviced clamp. The online shop for spare parts will also be presented in this area.

All of the aforementioned highlights and exhibits will be presented and exhibited this year at a completely redesigned booth. This makes the anticipation even greater, concludes Martin Leitner: "With numerous content and technical innovations, as well as our new booth, we are particularly excited to welcome our customers, partners, and fellow travelers to Interalpin this year."
